The Savoureux Pro Line Meat Grinder is not a good buy for anyone. It arrived in an undamaged box, but the motor assembly had broken loose from it's mounts and was rattling around inside the case. There were also plastic pieces loose inside. I have to think it is a badly made product if it can't make it through UPS's system without breaking inside. I followed instructions to get return & refund info and Heartland America responded promptly and courteously. The refund was processed promptly too. My only complaint about Heartland America is that I had to pay all shipping charges. I think they should have paid for the return shipping.

I too purchased the savoureux proline meat grinder from Heartland America . Mine arrived intact. I used it about 5 times before something "snapped" internally while I was grinding beef for hamburg. Now the shaft doesn't turn when there is any thing to be ground. I don't even bother trying to deal with Heartland America. I have had nothing but CRAP service from them. Another item I had purchased from them arrived with a missing piece and when I called about it I was informed that I had to pay the shipping charges. I found some one locally who fixed it for less than the shipping charges. I am now looking locally again to have my grinder fixed. I will NEVER again buy ANYTHING from Heartland America. I bought the meat grinder and three other items from Heartland America,The meat grinder lasted about 1 hour and then somthing broke inside,I also bought a clock that said it was made from solid wood (It was really made from pressed cardboard sprayed with some type of clear plastic (JUNK)and an air cleaner that never worked from day one!!When I sent back my order it took a long time to get my refund and they charged me alot on shipping!!DO NOT BUY FROM THIS VENDOR!!!!

I purchased the Savoureux Meat Grinder about 2 years ago. We used it one time that year and when we got it out and tried to used it the second time this Fall, something inside broke. When I called Heartland America, they naturally told me that it was out of warranty even thro it was only used once and broke on the second time we attempted to use. It apparently has all plastic parts inside and is a real piece of junk. I just purchased another grinder from Cabelas that has all metal parts for over twice the price, but it is well worth the extra money and I expect it to last a long time. Remember you get what you pay for and products made overseas are not always good quality.

Just after a few uses the grinder broke inside,I opened it up and was shocked all the gears were made of cheap toy quality plastic!!! Two of them cracked and shuttered. If you buy this product do not expect it to last beyond a few times, and to replace the gears to custom made metal once cost so much more that the grinder itself that it is not worth it.

This is a super meat grinder if you want to RE-grind the hamburger you bought at the grocery store. I don't want to sound negative about this FINE MACHINE as I have been grinding jello and bananas for over 2 days now without a problem, but anything else will cause the plastic gears to snap and all you have left is the ugliest paper weight you've ever seen. All kidding aside, my Christmas present didn't last through the first batch of sausage.

I purchased this item some months back from Heartland America and have used it a lot. The only problem I have found is that if you try and stuff too much into it the pressure builds up on the grinding plate and pops the big nut off the end, so I have given it plenty of time to strip gears and I now let it grind at its own pace. I use it for making sausages and mainly for grinding food for the chickens, so it gets a lot of use. The only thing I would have liked is a larger grinding plate for the sausages as the 7mm supplied is too small in my opinion as I prefer more chunky meat.
