I found this CD single/Import/EP to be a nice treat. The CD features four songs and their descriptions are as follows:

The first track is just an edited version, with a few variations, of "Saw Something" from the Hourglass album. This really is a mellow and melancholy song. However, it also plays like a holistic love song. It really shows the maturity of David Gahan's lyrics since Paper Monsters.

The second track is a remix and edited version of "Deeper and Deeper". This version is much more industrial, dirty and electronically induced than the album adaptation. This isn't a bad thing, just gives this song a new spin. I would still have to say that the original rendering of "Deeper and Deeper" is better.

The third track is the B-Side remix for "Love Will Leave". This song is a medium pace tune, not too fast yet not to slow. It has a dreamy house quality to it. Another reviewer in this forum stated that the vocals have been washed out by the music. I don't know if I totally agree with that interpretation. This is a remix, not the original song; therefore this leaves the door open for experimentation. Gahan's vocals can be made out in this track, there are points however where certain words blend/fade into the music. This effect by no means ruins the quality of the song. I do hope that the original version of this song will be released on another CD.

The fourth track is dance/techno remix of "Deeper and Deeper". This isn't a bad version, yet it isn't great either. This remix is about 7:50 and it is a bit redundant. Don't get me wrong, the music sounds good; it just doesn't seem to deviate much for a remix that is over seven minutes long. Overall a good track, yet on this CD I found it to be the weakest song.

In conclusion, this is a CD I believe fans of the Hourglass album and Dave Gahan will not be disappointed with. I just read on a Dave Gahan/Depeche Mode website that an Hourglass remix album will be released March 2008. I am hopefully there will be more good tunes on this CD; I know for certain there is another version of "Love Will Leave" on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars So worth it!, September 8, 2009

I fell in love with the Dave Gahan's song "Love will leave". After searching the web, I came across a lot of shady websites offering to download it for free. I did not want to harm my favorite band by doing so. I, instead, started searching for the album in the amazing world of amazon, and I was successful. Not only I got my favorite song, a great remix of "Deeper and Deeper" and the sensual song "Saw something". I got more material to my Depeche Mode/Dave Gahan collection!
It's worth it to wait for it to arrive in the mail!
I definitely recommend it.
