5.0 out of 5 stars Impressive, April 26, 2009

This review is from: Sawing Through the Memories (Audio CD)
I had the pleasure to see Allan De Lay perform with Michael Allen Harrison at one of Harrison's concerts. Most scoff at the notion of the sawblade as a musical instrument -- probably because they have never heard it played very well. Allan De Lay on the other hand plays very well and enjoys it thoroughly. Then when you mix De Lay with an outstanding pianist like Michael Allen Harrison, you wind up with a masterpiece. This CD will be a pleasant surprise for you.

1.0 out of 5 stars AAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!, December 20, 2007
This review is from: Sawing Through the Memories (Audio CD)
ACCK!!!! Michael Allen Harrison is a wonderful pianist but with saws....... RUN AND HIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It sounds like...... sorta like weird whistling. If the sawing was taken out it would have been an O.K album. I rated it 1 star because there was no -200 star. :(. All of the songs sound the same and all of them are terrible. I think the person that is sawing or whatever made a good effort to actually make the saw or whatever sound a note but it was still bad. If you're wondering, this CD was free at the Michael Allen Harrison Christmas Concert and I THOUGHT it would be decent. The ones we paid for were very good though.
I guess i found out the purpose of free CD's.....
