Wow!,

This review is from: Sawyer (Buckhorn Brothers, Book 1) (Paperback)
Sawyer Hudson is a doctor who pulled his most recent patient out of a lake. Honey Malone is sick and she's running from something, but she won't tell him...won't let him help. And Sawyer wants to help her, not just because it's his nature, but because there's something about this woman pulling at him. He's not sure just what it is...and he's not sure he wants to figure it out. But when Honey's mystery is solve, there's just that one question left to answer. Could the answer possibly be love?Lori Foster is an author who's stories always sizzle with sexual tension and Sawyer's story is a prime example of what she does so well!

Do NOT judge this book by its cover,
This review is from: Sawyer (Buckhorn Brothers, Book 1) (Paperback)
The man pictured on the cover is not Sawyer Hudson. Trust me. I don't know *who* he is, but it's not Sawyer. And raspberries to the people (not the author) responsible for this cover. That aside, I want to know where these guys were when I was younger. I honestly don't know when I've had a more enjoyable time reading a book. It has caring, compassionate men (who are also as gorgeous as all get out), humor, and steamy love scenes. The one kitchen scene is worth double the price of the book. And the heroine is no shrinking violet, given to standing up to these guys and giving back in full measure what they dole out to her. All played against a backdrop of love, respect and protectiveness. Ms. Foster has again given her readers a gem to savor along with the tantalizing prospect of more Hudson brothers' stories this summer, which could pose a problem if one needs to decide which is more important: Weeding the garden or losing themselves in Buckhorn.

Don't judge the book by its cover!,
This review is from: Sawyer (Buckhorn Brothers, Book 1) (Paperback)
I almost didn't buy this book decause the cover was so off-putting (pity the model and the clearly "starving" artist). But, my enjoyment of Lori Foster pushed me past the superficial and I loved it! Foster introduces the heroine, Honey, with the right amount of pathetic vulnerability while instilling the hero, Sawyer, with the strength and protectiveness we love to fall in love with. But as Honey heals physically, her character toughens to a delightfully strong female who is more than capable of handling 4 stong, overprotective men. Foster's romance is wickedly HOT and delicious! I fell in love with Sawyer and can't wait to do the same with Morgan, and the rest. If this series continues on the same formula, it will rank right up on top with Nora Robert's McKade Brothers! Just rip the cover off before you begin...

...a rousing and sexy tale of true love.,

This review is from: Sawyer (Buckhorn Brothers, Book 1) (Paperback)
Honey Malone is running from an unknown assailant. Sick and disoriented, she crashes her car through a fence and into a Kentucky lake. When she awakens, she finds herself surrounded by the biggest, the handsomest, and four of the stubbornest men she has ever met. But only one of them can make her desire burn red-hot. Dr. Sawyer Hudson pulls the beautiful unconscious woman from her half-submerged car. He doesn't understand the immediate and unreasonable attraction he feels for this mystery woman. When he learns her life is in danger, he will stop at nothing to protect her. Lori Foster writes a rousing and sexy tale of true love. SAWYER is the first in her four book Buckhorn Brothers series for Temptation. In this book, the author introduces us to Morgan, Jordan, Gabe, Sawyer, and Sawyer's son Casey. They all sound intriguing and I look forward to each of their stories. Lori Foster gives her readers everything they could want in a romance novel. She fills her pages with laugh-out-loud humor, breathless tension and sizzling sex. Look for Lori's interview in the June 1st issue of Romance Communications. She tells of her current works, her motivation and how she got started writing romance. She also mentions the cover art of SAWYER. I believe Harlequin did the author and reader a disservice with this cover. It really is awful and has no resemblance to any of the characters. Merrilee Terry

One of the best series!,
This review is from: Sawyer (Buckhorn Brothers, Book 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
First and foremost, here is my order of the brothers (books):
Gabe Jordan Sawyer Morgan I thought I ought to write my review here for all four books because all were just outstanding they deserve my review since I read all four in the course of less than two weeks. My least favorite book, but not brother, is "Morgan." From the time I read about Morgan from Sawyer's story, I was really interested in the character. He was bold, blunt, dark, and very caring but that feeling was covered by his strongness, intimidation, and just plain scary. When I was finally read Morgan's story, I was sad. Yeah, Morgan was still blunt and straight-foward as ever but I'm not sure why his story was the least appealing than the others. The scenes and even "love" scene was just blah. I was expecting some excitment, some hard-edge, rough scene but didn't get it. I was disappointed. Yay for Morgan for finding love, and being such a great guy to Misty toward the end, but his character wasn't well presented in his story than he was in book one. Book one with Sawyer and Honey was a great first book for the series. I really like reading more about Sawyer, and how he became a dad and such a great guy. Also, how he was able to fall in love again and marry when he swore he would not do that again. Honey is good for him. I enjoyed reading their story. And even more excited to learn they had a baby together later in the series. "Jordan" book 4 was another great. I just wish they would have added more animals in the book. Since Jordan was a vet, it would have been nice to see his softer side more during his story. Jordan appears to be the quiet, more to himself kind of guy than his brothers and I love that about him, but he wasn't all shy or quiet in this book. I like guys who are shy, and you have to get to know them. I was not expecting to see him fall in love with a stripper but it was good for him. He cared for her, and her family so quickly, and easily. It was a nice read, and his "love" scene was soooo exceptionally well written! Probably my favorite one out of all the brothers. And now Gabe, book three, was my favorite book! And I thought it was going to be my least because his character from the get go seemed as if he had no a clue what he wanted to do with himself. Even from book one and book two, Gabe was the man who just lounged around, worked when he wanted to when he felt like it, and that was pretty much it. I was getting a bit worried about him, and when I read the first few pages of his book he was still same old Gabe. But this book turned around for me 100% and I couldn't put the book down at all. It was great, very romantic, and unexpected. I fell in love with Gabe and Elizabeth. Every scene was awesome, well-written, and I fell in love! I have already read Casey but that was some time ago and once the reissued comes out I won't be able to wait to read it again! Check out all four of these books! They are sooooooo great!

First time reader of this author. I usually read novels that have intricate plots, but I was looking for light-hearted fare. This was it. Moved quickly without being mundane, VERY humorous, and very sexy (I like it when the characters are surprised at their compatibilty). I have quickly ordered the next three in the series and look forward to reading them.

No interesting character development, personality, plot or action. He's drawn to her physical appearance and later says she's the love of his life. Same for her. This author describes beautiful bodies, beautiful eyes, attractive decorating. She cooks, shares and gets along with his brothers. It was all too superficial for me.

Sawyer exceeded my expectations.,

This review is from: Sawyer (Buckhorn Brothers, Book 1) (Paperback)
I have always enjoyed Lori's books. She consistently provides sexy amusing tales. Sawyer exceeded my expectations. Without sacrificing her trademark sexiness and humor she provided a deeper tale with well drawn characters that left me panting for more of these 4 wonderful brothers. The story's main focus was the relationships within the family, and she built a wonderful foundation for further character development throughout the four books. One of the characters that most touched me was Casey, Sawyer's fifteen-year-old son. He is the size of an adult and seems so grown. Yet you feel his longing for the mothering Honey can't help but shower him with. One scene epitomizes the sexiness and humor Lori is famous for. Picture Honey in a state of extreme embarrassment surrounded by all the brothers in various states of undress, with Morgan (the cop) totally unashamedly nude except for a gun. The brothers are oblivious of her dismay and stand there trying to convince her to stay with them. It was a hoot and all of the brothers are so sexy! I highly recommend picking this one up. It is going directly to my keeper shelf, as I wait impatiently for More. Angela Barker, UreviewIt

Another Sizzler by Lori Foster,

This review is from: Sawyer (Buckhorn Brothers, Book 1) (Paperback)
Lori Foster has a dynamic talent that seems to grow with each word she writes. The stories sizzle, the characters are real, and the inter-family relationships make us evaluate ourselves and strive to be better! The bonds she ties in her books are so believeable, I expect to meet these people one day! Lori Foster is a talented writer, and I can't wait for the next book. Don't miss this wonderful series!

What Do I Think? Wow!,
This review is from: Sawyer (Buckhorn Brothers, Book 1) (Paperback)
What do I think? I am reading it now! So far its vintage Foster. Lori Foster never lets her fellow woman down. She creates unique situations that grab your interest by the throat and make it impossible to work or clean or cook dinner. <g> Her strongest characters are her men and I like it that way. This is odd because I am such a feminist about this stuff. In this case, the men are so strong that the interesting qualitities of Honey the heroine don't kick in until later. Thats okay because it is a new twist. It snags your interest anew and pushes it in a different direction. Most important to the reader, there is a strongly constructed and complete story for the characters to play in. Foster is a great world builder and I have no doubt that if she wanted to, she could build worlds in sci-fi as well. Lisa
