Sawyer Premium Controlled Release Insect Repellent Lotion is a superior formula in the sense that the polymer mechanism significantly reduces the rate of DEET absorption and extends the duration of its effectiveness. In fact, the absorption rate is reduced by 67-percent per application. 20-percent DEET Lotion-Odorless, Non-Greasy, LOW DEET ABSORPTION FORMULA-micro-encapsulated to last longer. Effective against ALL mosquitoes including the one carrying West Nile Virus and against ticks. By "controlling" the evaporation of DEET, this repellent can remain effective all day. Based on a dermal absorption study recently accepted by the EPA, Sawyer Premium Controlled Release Insect Repellent is the ONLY currently registered formula proven to reduce DEET absorption. The study compared one application of 20-percent Sawyer Premium Controlled Release Insect Repellent Lotion versus one application of 20-percent DEET spray.

I used this product for myself and my 2 years old daughter when we were visiting India. I must say that it worked like magic. Kept all those bugs away from bugging us!! One night, I forgot to apply on my daughter and next day, she had 20 mosquito bites to be precise!

Not greasy, no odor. It was recommended for my baby by a pediatrician who said the slow-release formula DEET does not penetrate the skin as much as other formulas so it's safer. Kept all the bugs away in SE Asia, which is a very buggy place.

Safe, meets American Academy of Pediatrics recommended dose. Effective. Applied this on a trip to Southeast Asia, no mosquito bites. Has a trace smell, but hardly noticeable. Has a 'sunscreen-like' feel but not greasy.
