If Douglas Adams wrote earth-bound short stories, he might write something close to the stories in Tom Flanders' Sax Healer. Flanders has a quirky world view and writes with an even quirkier, gentle sense of humor that pulls you into the narrative. According to the author's blurb for each story, some are directly autobiographical while all were inspired by some musings of Flanders on the question "What if?" In the case of the more autobiographical selections, the world view is well-grounded but the story arc is still out in the stratosphere. [...]
