"Sax You Down" is one the most prolific and profound (2) CD set concepts in Smooth Jazz. Alfonzo Blackwell is definitely ahead of his time. I haven't come across this type of bang for you buck with great music to fulfill your every mood.

On the 1st CD disc "Take One" and "Sax You Down" are hitting with hot grooves and "Special Lady" is strong sax lines and is a throw-back to funk. "Love Song" and "Your Touch" are warm and endearing ballads that Alfonzo Blackwell is accustomed to mastering with his highly sophisticated productions and saxophone playing. This CD is smoother than smooth.

On the 2nd CD disc, Alfonzo lets loose and calls out for "Let Me Out", which is a Hip-Hop, R&B/Funk inspired tune that has fury in the beat and cutting sax riffs. "Sax You Up" is just like it sounds; it a twist to the title track, "Sax You Down". It's a funk flavored...make you snap your fingers and stomp your feet dance track. Alfonzo served up some remixes to some tracks from the 1st CD disc and it really gets you dancing like back in the clubbing days. His concept really has me amazed of how he can go from "Take One" on the 1st CD and then when I listen to the Hip-Hop remix version; it is such a pleasant contrast. All of the remixes have the same affect. When Alfonzo gives you Smooth Jazz, you're totally satisfied and then when he `shakes it up', you have Hip-Hop, Funk, Jazz at its best.

This is a great job with coming with something new, fresh and innovative while keeping jazz exciting, moving and happening. You are my hero! Always keep the music coming.

I just picked this amazing CD. I was just checking out some CD's in the jazz section and discovered this amazing smooth jazz artist. First of all, he seems to offer much more to jazz listeners. Sax You Down is a double set CD set for the price of one. That was a great buy! Then when I got home, I put the CDs into the player and was absolutely blown away by this young and talented artist. I checked his website out too. Alfonzo is really being some slammin' music into the 21st century. I am a devoted fan for life now. I wish I knew about him when he first came out in 1995. People, you gotta get with this genius saxophonist/producer/songwriter.

"Sax you down" was the first time I had listened to the music of Alfonzo Blackwell and I was highly impressed. Their is no doubt that the skills he has in playing that saxaphone is simply God-given. Both CD's are excellent and will appeal to a wide range audience rather they want to sit back and relax to some smooth jazz tunes or if they want to get down and party with some up-tempo r&b/hip-hop style music. I wish him much luck and future success and know that the best for him is yet to come.

"Sax You Down" by Alfonzo Blackwell is a Jazzy feel good piece that gets your mind and body moving no matter what type of mood your in. This double disc has got so much soul it will lift you up to the highest of heights and bring back to Earth for some quality time with some quality music. In the house, at the office, during the daily commute, wherever you may be Blackwell's "Sax You Down" will take you somewhere else. When that Sax gets going so will you!

I love Alfonzo blackwells' music. His music has slow & uptempo beats. This kind of music can have any crowd jumping! You can dance solo or grab a partner on the floor. It doesn't matter cause you'll be asking for more. You can play his music at any club and get lot's of love! I never thought I'd be so into Jazz music until I heard these grooves! I just want to tell Alfonzo, thank you!!

I want to be a Sax Player when I grow up. My Parents listen to Alfonzo Blackwell's music. I think he is the best.

A friend of mine introduced me to saxophonist, Alfonzo Blackwell back in the day and I've been following his career since then. I can't believe it. He keeps getting better with each new album. Sax you down is HOT. If you don't have it yet, you better run out and pick up this CD. It burns and sizzles. This cat is a true saxophone pioneer. He's doing things with his sax that I've never heard before. He's on fire. Hands down, he's the best smooth jazz artist alive. On the real.

This double cd is fantastic! I fell in love with every song. It's smooth, it's jazzy it's r&b it is cool. Disc one to took me to higher place. Disc two kept there. I am in awe!

Simply outstanding music. Alfonzo is so genuine and true to his craft. This musician is certainly one of the best of all time. He handles each song with such a wonderful approach. I picked one CD up for me, my mom, my father and my in-laws. It is amazing how I can pick up one CD that would both make me cry and jump up and dance also.
