Book Description

Thrilled to have been recruited into the secret society of Time Surfers, 15 year old, Saxon Brightlight, along with her two time traveling buddies, Firetop, from 100 years in her future, and Sugar Boy, from 100 years in her past, surf to past eras by the use of their "Tri-Meters" where they meet famous historical figures.
On one such time jump to warn Firetop's uncle, Swordsman, not to join in the battle of the Little Bighorn, we hear he was involved in a sword duel with a rogue Time Surfer and marked the rogue with a permanent scar from forehead to cheek through his left eye.
Between time-surfing adventures, Saxon must balance school, home, social life, and her growing love for Firetop. She must also contend with her high school nemesis, Pamela, who is obsessed with besting Saxon both academically and socially. There is to be a school prom for which Saxon's idea, "Past, Present and Future, The Time is Ours", has been chosen as the theme. Pamela challenges Saxon to a future formal duel in hopes that she and her partner will be crowned King and Queen.
There is concern over recurring mysterious strangers who appear to be watching the Time Surfers, and our three are challenged to decipher their meaning and intent.
When Sugar Boy takes off on his own to a "hot zone" to dissuade Nat Turner from his slave rebellion of 1831 and loses his means to return to his present, Saxon and Firetop vow to bring him back. From reading Nat Turner's biography, they conclude that he must have been manipulated by a rogue Time Surfer bent on altering the past for his twisted pleasure. Saxon and Firetop surf down to Jerusalem, Virginia, where they find a message written in blood directing them to Sugar Boy's time and location. Upon finding him, they discover that he is no longer in possession of his Tri-Meter. The problem is: How can three Time Surfers get home with only two Tri-Meters? While they are trying to figure this out, the scar-faced rogue appears, and a bloody fight ensues. None escapes without a wound, but now the Tri-Meter problem is solved. The rogue threatens that his brother, who is now in possession of Sugar Boy's Tri-Meter, will find out what happened to him and hunt them down. Nat Turner and his gang, having heard the battle cries, rush to the scene. They threaten to kill everyone, so our three Time Surfers jump to Sugar Boy's present where they are treated like heroes.
Back in her own time, Saxon suffers from post traumatic shock. She has a meltdown at school. Pamela offers insult to injury.
A week later, Saxon, somewhat recovered, along with Firetop, jump down to meet Sugar Boy. All three have been experiencing the same problems. They console each other, and their meeting has its intended effect, yet they are worried about the rogue's brother coming after them. Not wanting to live in fear, they decide on a preemptive strike. Unwittingly, the rogue gave them clues where to find him, a time and place fraught with danger and death. However, in order to save their own lives, they must jump into another hot zone and put a stop to this twin and his evil doings.
