My daughter's school uses the Saxon Math book series. She has a late summer birthday and is one of the youngest kids in the class. Plus several kids going into the 1st grade at her school were held back before they started kindergarten to get an age advantage. So, we wanted to make sure she could keep her math skills up for the summer and this workbook is doing the trick. She loves to play school with it and has fun solving the problems. Each page only takes a few minutes to work and there is lots of repetition that builds on itself. The book can easily be taken places or you can just tear out a few pages to take with you. This math workbook plus lots of reading over the summer and she will be ready to shine in 1st grade.

It is a loose leaf work book that seems to be meant to go along with an actual text book but at this level, I can easily help my son and fill in any concepts he doesn't understand.

This was a difficult find for the school my son was going to. There are several Saxon Math books out there, but we confirmed that this was the correct one. We recieved this book earlier than expected which was a pleasant suprise. It came in great condition as promised and is exactly what we ordered.
