Excellent for any student of the saxophone., September 22, 2005

Nobuya Sugawa is one of the technically cleanest players that I have ever heard, and in this collection Sugawa does an overview of many of the "staples" of the saxophone repertoire. I myself am and under-grad saxophone student, and many of the pieces that I have played or am studying right now are on this CD. The Martin Ballade, the Heiden Sonata, Tableaux De Provence, Desenclos, the list goes on. Each of the recording on here are first rate in terms of technique and accurate interpetation. If you plan to seriously study the saxophone at a higher level, this collection is an excellent place to start. Highly recommended.
