I must say that I am a little disappointed in myself, although I had this book in my wishlist for a while waiting for it to come out, I read another review that had me second guessing my decision to buy this book. I have been a big fan of Ms Hunt since the beginning and I have every last one of her books. (Have me searching Amazon ever month like a crack-head trying to see when one of her books was coming out). Don't ask me why I let someone else's opinion sway me from buying one of my favorite authors book. Ms. Hunt, you need not worry I did not let that happen. I purchased the book and read it in 5 hrs. You have a lot of authors out here writing about drugs, killing and a whole lot of other crap. Some of us readers get tired of reading that mess and some other readers are stuck with that particular genre and I don't knock them for that. I like authors who like to expand. You can rest assure that you are still one of my favorite authors. I thought you did a fantastic job. I loved the story and the characters. I just know that you are going to expand on: Eric the Doctor, Seymone, Landon, Scooter and Bobby. Please don't keep me waiting another 2yrs before you put the next book out. Trust, I will be recommending this book to all my book-loving family & friends. Also know, that I will not ever second guess you again because you know what they say about opinions ;-)

I've read all of La Jill Hunt's previous books and I loved them! So, I was really surprised at how poorly written this book was! This book was just stupid! I was amazed at the contradictions in this book! The main character Paisley is being stalked yet, she has no problem leaving the house by herself! The stalker breaks into her house and leaves her a dog and she keeps it! In what reality would that ever happen?! Landon makes comments that Paisley finds offensive yet, she doesn't call him out on it or tell anyone else! She just walks around with an attitude! Paisley was a very unlikeable character just because, she was so stupid! And, why did the author feel the need to give every single character in this book their own chapter?! Really?! Why did Landon's girlfriend need her own chapter when she's not even a main character?! La Jill Hunt needs to learn how to write. Her writing style is horrible! She may want to take a page out of Eric Jerome Dickey, E. Lynn Harris, and Terry McMillam's books and learn how to perfect her writing. I'm just happy I didn't waste my money on this book!

La Jill Hint introduces readers to Paisley Lawrence, better known as The Sensual Seductress. Paisley, a former video vixen, is the owner of The Playground, an erotic fitness studio. She had looks, men and a house to die for. The only thing missing was the only man that she loved, Warren Cobb. Warren is the hottest gospel singer in town who was married to Bishop Julian Arnold's niece, Kolette. Bishop Arnold had one of the biggest congregations and he would do anything to remain in good grace. All hell breaks loose when Paisley and Warren are nearly killed in a car accident. Say It Ain't So tells what happens when their paths cross.

Hunt has put together a fun story. There are a lot of very colorful and interesting characters that are trying to figure out what type of relationship Paisley and Warren have. I laughed and shook my head as I turned each page. Though I figured out Paisley's mystery, I continued to read to see how Hunt would conclude the story.

I really enjoyed this book, by LaJill. What I found particularly interesting is her focus on the frame stories. Although we all wanted to know what the deal was between Paisly and Warren, I felt that her emphasis on Paisley's shortcomings and interesting dynamics with the others around her provided a much better story. I think the story was Paisley's story and not the story of Paisley and Warren. Her life story is a bit more interesting. I am looking forward to reading more about Landon and Seymone.

I must say that I have enjoyed all of the books that I've read by LaJill Hunt, so when I met her at Afr'am in Virginia 2010 I got an autographed copy of her latest book, Say It Ain't So. A few months ago, I picked it up and started reading and every night when I'd have a few minutes I'd go into the lives of Paisley Lawrence and her mother, the confused and disturbed, Warren Cobb, Seymone, Fallon, Landon and the other characters.

Paisley and Warren kept so much a secret and yet still couldn't handle the truth that they knew for sure was a burning passion amongst themselves. While reading the book, I kept wishing they would just snap out of it and be a man and woman about the way they felt for each other. The only thing I didn't like was that they still did not seem to fully resolve whatever it was that they had going on in the end. I kept waiting for them to have a sit down and talk about all that had happened since their mishap and media frenzy.

Say It Ain't So provided enough life, business, and celeb issues to keep the pages turning and keep this reader waiting for the climax. I look forward to reading what's next from LaJill Hunt.
