Bumbling Fun!,
By Karl Macht (Runyon, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Say Anything: The Movie Quote Game That Takes You Back to the '80s One Line at a Time (Paperback)
I had so much fun reading this book that I got a hernia! Peter Thomas and Frank present their wizadry in such a way that one could never mistake them for proprietors. They suckle the "teets" of the 80's cow until only powdered milk would resolve their finance. Undeniably, the highlight of this book is when Peter Thomas takes his shot at the musty moguls known as the "Lompom Twins"! Boy, did I laugh!

Funnier than a sickle!,
This review is from: Say Anything: The Movie Quote Game That Takes You Back to the '80s One Line at a Time (Paperback)
This book is tremendously funny. I love Peter Thomas and Frank's candid approach towards the uninspiring decade that we know as the eighties. This book helped me get through a couple of tough years upstate at Elmira State Penitentiary. Since, I've been released, I've gained a new perspective on life and have Peter Thomas and Frank to thank. You good men have made a better man out of me through levity and humor. At first, the days were long and dreary but when my C.O. lent me that book, the days became brighter. I needed to keep it!THANKS AGAIN! You will always be in my thoughts!

Even my pop-pop laughed!,
By Don Byron-Brussels (Duluth, MN) - See all my reviews

These incouragable fellows have done it again! An exceptional representaion of this impish decade is presented in a masterful manner by Peter Thomas and Frank. My temples almost imploded due to laughter when I read Peter Thomas' justification of the "Lompom Twins". I also almost seared myself after reading the "Ode to Russ" and all its colossal wisdom. No human could expand on this phenomenon as well as Peter Thomas and Frank. Kudos my green friends! Keep up the great work.

Those 80s Gurus are at it again!,
By Sammy Pie "Super-genius" (New York, NY) - See all my reviews

Hotcha! This book kept me in stitches as I took an occasionally painful trip in the Way Back Machine to the Reagan era. If you were born from '65-'75, chances are you'll know a frightening number of answers to these. The capsules are the highlight though, these two are ace satirists. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.

This is like the ultimate party book. My brothers quote movies constantly. I mean constantly! They each got a copy for Christmas. I came on to buy a couple more copies and it's out of stock. Ugh! This is a great book.

Games should be challenging. Humor should be funny. This book is neither. When the revolution comes, someone must answer for this.

Buyer Beware!,
By Harrison Salisbury (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Say Anything: The Movie Quote Game That Takes You Back to the '80s One Line at a Time (Paperback)
This book has NOTHING to do with Cameron Crowe's excellent film of the same name, despite a few oblique references. Crowe's movie was one of the best movies of the eighties: an honest, refreshing look at adolescent fears and responsibilities. This book is a VERY CYNICAL compendium of wiseass "gee, didn't the eighties suck" comments couched in a lame attempt to make a quick buck off the subject it mocks. For an excellent alternative, check out "RAMBO REAGAN," a freewheeling journey through a very interesting decade.

The '80s rule!,
By Nicole (Philadelphia) - See all my reviews

Dear Dan from Chicago: A little secret: It's a lot more fun to read this book with your friends (of which you have many, I'm sure). This book, along with its predecessor, Who Can It Be Now?, is all about reliving the weird and wonderful '80s with the people who actually lived them with you. It has great quotes from all the best '80s movies.

Hornswaggling, Pie-eyed Balderdash,

So many jibes at "80s." Why? Hmmmm. Perhaps book wants to make I laugh, yes? No! I read book four times (twice alone) and jokes seem like Mr. Leno's rejects. Mr. Leno would never, for instance, make jokes like on page 33. So why I not like book. Simple! I remember the 1980s. I WAS ALIVE for them. Movies were not jokes. Movies were good. Movies were true. Movies were us.
