We just caught Dominick and his quartet at Nighttown in Cleveland, Ohio on New Year's Eve. Having seen him and his quartet a few times, he just gets better and better. His poise and professionalism are astounding for someone his age. I picked up this CD after the show and have been listening to it non-stop. A great selection of songs that showcase Dominick's range and talent as a gifted trumpeter. He just keeps getting better and better. I also have to give special recognition to drummer Carmen Intorre, he is also really developing as a drummer and a showman. The chemistry between Carmen and Dominick is something special to watch. On this CD his playing is tight and provides a solid foundation for the quartet. For these guys the sky is the limit.

Just saw Dominic this last weekend at a hometown spot, the Bop Stop in Cleveland. It's really hard to believe he's only 20 (or so...) He has the chops and poise of a veteran.

This disc has the tone and feel of one of those great mid-sixties Blue Note records by artists like Joe Henderson. Great song selection, including an interesting take on "I'm A Fool To Want You", and tight, concise playing.

Keep an eye on this kid!!
