2.0 out of 5 stars The formatting is awful in Kindle version of this book
My daughter is receiving NAET treatment for autism and I like to get more background information. However, the formatting of the ebbok in chapters 7 and chapter 9 are awful. Numbering for bullet points were wrong and items are packed together and not properly separated which make the most informative part extremely difficult to read. Think about it before you buy the...

5.0 out of 5 stars IT WORKS!!!!, October 28, 2002
This review is from: Say Good-Bye to Allergy Related Autism (Paperback)
This book was great! Especially helpful to us since were are currently treating our son via NAET. It does work and we have seen incredible, wonderful, changes in our son. After trying Western medicine, 7 doctors to be exact, to alternative methods such as P&N allergy treatments, we stumbled across NAET. This has saved us from many more years of heartache trying to help our son. It is noninvasive and we have never seen anything like it. I haven't met anyone yet who has actually done NAET with thier child who has said it hasn't worked for them. Do not listen to the nay sayers in here. From the lack of personal experience noted in the reviews it looks like they haven't even tried NAET, so how can they judge it? I just wish we would have found NAET before subjecting our son to all the doctors, the extensive blood work, the painful allergy tests, and ridiculous, next to impossible, special diets!!!  Our son can actually have ice cream now at birthday parties at school. He's not in a special school, and through each treatment we are seeing more and more improvement in his speech!  This book goes deeper into the mechanisms of how NAET can help the children that "Western" medicine has given up on and would rather medicate, and put into special schools, verses finding out the culprit behind thier developmental issues! I highly recommend the book and NAET! This is the second time I have submitted this same review. My first review was never inserted for this book. For some reason Amazon.com would rather leave the negative, and unsubstantiated reviews online verses a first hand personal account of the true affects of this type of treatment. I hope for all parents sake and thier precious children sake, that this review will make it to thier screen so they can get on thier way to a life long recovery from this mystery illness. You don't have to do the special diets, undergo the tedious schooling, and medicate your child. NAET will show you how.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't knock it till you try it..., March 23, 2003
This review is from: Say Good-Bye to Allergy Related Autism (Paperback)
My daughter was diagnosed with moderate to severe autism, but after doing 5 months with NAET she was on her way to recovery. We went 3 times a week and had amazing progress. I would recommend it to everyone that has a child with ASD. If you give it a chance it will work, you need to realize that it isn't a miracle pill & that the progress may appear to come slowly, especially if you do treatments less frequently. If you make a commitment to go through with as many treatments as it take I believe you will be satisfied. Make sure you read this book & the NAET Guidebook to make sure the treatments are done accurately, unfortunately there are some practicioners that do not follow Dr. Devi's protocal very well. I would also recommend Pat O's Advanced Metabolic NAET protocal for the treatment of Autism, she has been working on perfecting a treatment for autism and has had great success, She was trained by Dr. Devi. I feel really bad about those out there that say this is a scam / hoax, I felt that way when I first heard about it also and now I can't say enough good things about it. If anyone wants to email me about our NAET experience please do, I even have an online journal that dictates her progress.
Good Luck!

5.0 out of 5 stars NAET WORKS ON AUTISM!, August 8, 2003
This review is from: Say Good-Bye to Allergy Related Autism (Paperback)
Steven, a seven year old autistic child began treatment on the same day when I started my treatment. I distinctly remember his appearance on the first day of his visit in Dr. Devi's office. He was bumping into things and people, had no awareness of the surroundings or people, was flapping his hands, pulling his sleeves, chewing his clothes, running back and forth in the waiting room aimlessly, etc. Then I didn't see him for a while, because we both had appointments at different times. I saw him the other day again, and I couldn't recognize him. His mother said he had 11 treatments. He has not yet treated for immunizations. He was sitting in the TV room with other children and watching TV calmly. What a transformation! I wonder why more people don't look for NAET or take their autistic children to NAET practitioners! Steven's dramatic changes forced me to read this book. What a book! Great information for the parents of autistic children. As usual lots of useful self-help tips for the parents. This book is packed with information. Everyone with an autistic child or relative must read this book. This can give a new meaning to your life.

5.0 out of 5 stars We need nore emphasis on the relationship between allergies, December 2, 2000
By
This review is from: Say Good-Bye to Allergy Related Autism (Paperback)
As the mother of a 6 year old recovered through ABA/DTT (I'm not chasing any shadows here!) it is only in the last 6 months that I have begun opening myself up to the possibilities of treatments for autism which are not "traditional." When a dietary plan which mainstream medicine tells me is useless calms my child 1000% and helps him be a happier person, and AIT opens up to him a whole new world of sounds/experiences that used to hurt him, then it's time for me as a mother (and an ABA therapist!) to consider that mainstream is not the end-all and be-all. I got alot out of this book and look forward to my family's upcoming experience with NAET 1st hand.

Lisa Camerino,M.D. (Portland,Oregon,USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Say Good-Bye to Allergy Related Autism (Paperback)
My son,Jonathan was diagnosed with Autism when he was 3.5 yrs. old and I was faced with the dilemma as a practicing M.D. for 16 years in allopathic medicine. I was told by many so called "specialists" that he will never recover since he was heavily impacted. After visiting NAET website, I read her books and immediately signed up to learn how to practice NAET on my son. Jonathan is on the road to recovery! I've helped not only my son but other autistic children as well as ADD, and ADHD children. Dr.Devi is a medical doctor and a chiropractor as well as a acupunturist, and a doctor of oriental medicine. But most of all, she was a patient who suffered enough to truely "CARE" about others who live in quiet desperation. She has finally connected the dots between Eastern medicine to Western medicine to benefit the humanity. She strongly encourages autistic children to continue with ABA and other modalities(PT,OT,Speech Therapy etc.) while NAET is ongoing. Be open-minded and humble enough to learn what NAET is all about! It may change your life if you let it!

4.0 out of 5 stars great jump start for getting rid of allergies, January 6, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Say Good-Bye to Allergy Related Autism (Paperback)
my 5 year old son has autism and multiple allergies which were not detected by the mainstream allergy tests done at the pediatricians. i got this book and looked it up on the naet website. we were lucky enough to get involved in the naet clinical trial for autism/allergies. according to the muscle response testing they do, he was actually allergic to almost 100 environmental factors like vitamin c and perfume. he was even allergic to the minerals in water. no wonder we could never lock down his allergy source! anyway, this may sound like mumbo jumbo to you, but it has worked wonders for our son. the only reason i do not give the book 5 stars is because it is a bit vague which forces you to find the practitioner and you are not able to do any of it yourself until they teach you.

5.0 out of 5 stars NAET, April 15, 2006
This review is from: Say Good-Bye to Allergy Related Autism (Paperback)
I have read the book and agree that the title can be misleading. HOWEVER, that being said...I have brought my autistic twins to a NAET practitioner...after the first treatment, I already see a difference. My oldest twin is able to put 10 words together in a sentence (2 days ago he struggled to put 3 words together). My youngest twin is less agitated and more happy. Until you bring your autistic child to a NAET practitioner and at least try 1 appt. you should not judge the content of the book or its title.

5.0 out of 5 stars NAET worked for our family, March 6, 2010
This review is from: Say Good-Bye to Allergy Related Autism (Paperback)
Our son was diagnosed as being mildly austitic on Dec 3rd 2009. He hand flapped, rocked, spun in a chair and had about 30 words, no phrases. He was two at the time. We started NAET in mid-December and traditional therapies in January. He cleared gluten, wheat, yeast, just to name a few. These were the biggest allergens and we saw the most changes in him after he cleared these.
Today, March 6, 2010. My son has lost all of the self stimming behaviors except for handflapping. He speaks in sentences. He no longer needs speech therapy. He will attend regular preschool in the fall.

I believe we owe this all to NAET. His therapists agree there is so much progress it cannot be from just two months of therapy. I share this book with anyone who has interest and tell his story to everyone.
I followed my heart after seeing a news clip about NAET and from day one I believed it would work although I found it hard to wrap my mind around it.

It is not a scam although it might not work for all. I wish all autistic children would have the chance to try this.

5.0 out of 5 stars MY MIRACLE!!!, October 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Be forewarned, this is LOOOONG!

This treatment is a GODsend! My 2 year old son was diagnosed with autism right after his 1st bday. I mean, I literally saw the change take place in him. He went from a 7 to 10 word vocab, and well on his way to being fully pot trained to not speaking at all, clapping insessantly, and having attatchments to hangars and brushes. As a mother and a scientist, I saw it immediately. I brough him to his pediatrician, but he told me it was just a speech delay because he still interacted with his family, and he had good eye contact. I did not beleive it, but I figured it might not be true 'autism' that he had...

My son has had exzema almost since birth. Around the time this 'change' happened, it became horrible!! He could not go more than an hour without scratching so hard and so much he would bleed! I cannot tell you how much money we have spent on lotions, creams, and soaps alone! I got on a quest to help my son as much as I could. I put immediately him on a strict GFCF diet, and that helped his exzema alot. That got me thinking; could his exzema be from food allergies?

Over the course of the next year, I tried various things, spent thousands of dollars on vitamins, read hundreds of books (Dr. Sears writes a book that is on point!), saw many doctors; I only saw a small change in my son from all these various components. I was looking for a WOW!

I decided to try Chinese medicine. I researched their treatment on this condition thoroughly, and there is great success in Malaysia as well as in India that use Chinese meds for 'autism'. The reason I just put it in quotation marks is because the Chinese Healers think that true autism is VERY RARE (Dustin Hoffman in Rainman is a true autistic). But, Americans diagnose autism too readily and broadly, and that is why we say 'Autism Spectrum Disorder'.

So I prepared to take a trip to another country, but my spouse was not for it! He could not come with me because we would have to be gone at least a month, and we both could not afford to take off from work that long, and I needed my Mom and Dad to stay here to help care for my 4 year old daughter. So we decided to see if I could get this therapy for our son somewhere in this country. I found a wonderful person and doctor named Dr. Cissy Majebe, loctaed in N. Carolina. I made the appointment and flew ther w/my son for 2 weeks of therapy. She gave him 2 sessions per day of acupuncture as well as a number of herbal medicines. She also gave him a high metal toxins test (a test I have been trying to get a number of doctors to give him for almost a year now), and like we both thought, he was above range in EVERY HIGH METAL TOXIN THEY TESTED FOR! 'Autistic' kids mostly have high metal toxins because they cannot detox the way 'normal' people do (from Dr. Sears' book). That is 1 of the reasons they have the repetitive behavior. She also did a physical exam on him including looking at his tongue and diagnosed him with allergy related autism; she also said it was not just food he was allergic to, but because of the positive toxins test, he probably was allergic to things in the environment ad well. This made so much sense to me! I always knew that if the foods my son ate afftected his exzema, moods, and behavior, that it probably was a large percentafge of his 'autism'. Also, on really humid days (I live in Louisiana), his exzema would flair up.

Well, afetr maybe 3 days of therapy under Dr. Cissy, my son started saying Mama again! I burst into tears! He also started riding the elevator again without any fear (before he would hold me around my neck and scream to high heaven), he started holding pencils and crayons again and drawing, waving and saying bye bye, and the clapping decreased a great deal. And this was only after a few days!

We finished the 2 weeks, and everything I just named above got so much better, but I still wanted more! Typical Chinese medicine takes awhile, and I had to get back to work. I started researching about autism due to allergies, and came upon this book. I had actually downloaded it on my Kindle when I 1st started all my research, but I had so many books that I downloaded, I never got to read it. What a mistake! If this had been the 1st book I read, my son would probably be all the way cured by now! But actually, I would not have beleived the NAET treatment if I had not taken this long path 1st. I needed to see that American medicine did not work, and I needed to see and understand how Chinese medicine does work because NAET uses acupuncture points.

Listen to me...! Parents of children diagnosed with autistism, I KNOW how it feels to be helpless and hopeless and in despair looking at your beautiful child that has a thick shell over them. I know how it feels to spends a truck load of money on all kind of things that do not work. I am not a person that works for this company or any company related. I am a Mother of a 2 year old son named Ryan. I make it my life's goal to cure my son, and I KNOIW that I am well on my way to doing that with NAET!

Now I'm sure you ask why if this treatment is so good, then why isn't it mainstream? Well, I ask myself that same thing! I have come up with a couple of reasons: 1) companies do not want there to be a cure for ANYTHING! Think about it! Just in my case alone, I have had to spend a good $10,000 on doctors, oral meds, topical meds, tests, more meds to relieve the symptoms of the 1st set of meds, and on and on! If there was a known cure for most things, alot of companies would be out of business!

2) People feel if something is too good to be true, it usually is. Well, I agree! But the operative word in that saying is 'usually'! And this treatment is not an overnight cure, not by far. The book states that you can may have to go for 100 treatments to be totally cured, it just depends on how many things you are allergic to. But parents with chi;dren diagnosed with autism, if you are reading this, especially this much of my comment, you are curious. And I know that you know your children the way I know mine, and you would notice even the slightest change in anything asbout them. Well, I noticed that change after the 1st treatment! My son's 1st allergen was sugar. So common, its in EVERYTHING! As much as I restrict his diet and only let him eat organic, I could not keep him from sugar, because being allergic to sugar means you are even allergic to the natural sugar thats in fruits!

Anyway, after his treatment for sugar, and the 25 hour wait period, my family and I noticed that he was not scratching as much. Like I said, we had to rub him down with creams hourly, and after that 1st treatment, my Mom only put medicine on him once or twice a day. His 2nd allergen was corn, and this allergen was able to be combined with gluten/wheat. That treatment was just concluded on yesterday, and my son just scratched just a little about 5 minites ago! He has gone over 24hrs without medicine! Thats a record! No way can this be a coincidence! His next allergen is food coloring and additives. I cannot wait to see what improvements are made after that 1!

I do have to warn you, if you choose to pursue this treastment, please keep an open mind! Just looking at the testing and treatment will make a skeptical person very leary. Like I said, I had to have taken the acupuncture route to beleive it. It kinda looks like voodoo for a lack of a better word, but I promise you, it is worth trying! What can you lose? Now, make sure that the clinician is certified through NAET! You can go on there website [...], as they list all of their certified clinicians and how much study they have in each field NAET covers. Also, tretament for kids should not be too much money, so you should not have to pay an obscene amount of money each visit. Each clinic varies in charges, I'm sure, but I pay about $30 per allergen.

You have too ask yourself, is your child worth taking this chance?!

For any legitimately concerned parent that would like to contact me, please feel free to do so at my2nd_ary@yahoo.com. I have NEVER given out my email address, but I need to spread the word to parents and loved ones of people diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum Disorder! We all need to support each other in defeating this horrible condition that is stealing our loved ones!!
