Bland, Subjective History of Burns & Allen, March 12, 2009
This book is long on hype and short on details. It very briefly tells the story of Burns & Allen, then spends most of the time quoting the television program. It ends up with a log of episodes from the show, but the program has been unseen by most of America for so many years that there is little value to it. Most frustrating is how Burns and Allen are constantly being claimed as "innovators" and "the first" to do something, when in reality they were part of a team that did the TV show--and their show was not as historically important as this book would lead the reader to believe. It is purely for serious TV show fans only and even then there isn't enough detail to satisfy the fanatic.
