Handy and concise. I've used it recently when I had to resolve a difficult dialogue set in a Budapest cafe. One of the characters tries to impress his fellows with his Hungarian and -embarasses himself! But, seriously, 2176 useful Hungarian phrases that fit in your trousers!

I find this to be a very handy little book. It's even pocket-size, which I didn't know at the time I ordered it! It has over 2100 phrases that cover just about every situation you can think of, and the pronunciation guides are VERY helpful. It doesn't really discuss the grammar of Hungarian (which is SO MUCH different from that of English), but I suppose that's fair, considering that it's intended as a phrasebook, and not really a book on learning Hungarian. The book was published nearly 30 years ago and does include some phrases that are "outdated" (the ones regarding cameras and film, anyway), but most of them are ones that you would still use today. Very helpful book. Good things really DO come in small packages!
