I think it's nearly perfect. The tune is catchy, the lyrics could have meaning for anyone. The only drawback is the chorus is a tad bit repetitious for me. I have not seen the movie, but imagine that it goes well with the storyline.

Simple John,

To really be honest with you, there just haven't been many songs for movies that meant something from the heart commercially alst year. The only one that did was Melissa Ethridge's I Need To Wake Up from the documentary An Inconvient Truth. This year, John Mayer has shown that with his simplicity on his latest single simply called, Say. The song which is the main attraction from the Morgan Freeman film, The Bucket List, is a very strong song about letting your heart come out unconditionally. I think it is a good song, but not anything that is definitive that we've seen from movie soundtracks lately. John is a good and crafty songwriter, but I wish it could've had more than just words alone.
Song: C+

say it, then move on for goodness sake,

John Mayer's song "Say" is almost unbelievably repetitive, with the phrase "say what you need to say" repeated ad nauseum; the songwriter should take his own lyric's advice instead.

Great Song - I hate the music industry! Big Music Sucks,
This review is from: Say (Audio CD)
This is ridiculous. You can't find a good lossless version of 'Say' anywhere. Too bad for all you lemmings out there listening to poor 128kbps, lossy music, because the big Music Giants have told you it's good enough. I can't believe people are just letting it happen. You need to have your ears checked. Also, what's the deal with an awesome movie, 'The Bucket List', appearing to have a great soundtrack, but all you get is the composer stuff? What crap. Music Industry - I can't wait for someone to take your 5.1/7.1 surround sound version and make it lossless and put it on your favorite torrent site.
