Joe's story was worth the wait...,
This review is from: Say No to Joe? (Visitation, Book 1) (Paperback)
Joe Winston has always been a magnet to women. Never having any problem getting who he wants, he is stupefied when he can't have the one woman that he does want. He met Luna Clark when he did a favor for his cousin, Zane. The only problem is that Luna now wants nothing to do with him. It wasn't his fault he couldn't help but grab her the day he met her. Was it? Now Luna has come to Joe for help and he's determined to play that to his advantage. Soon he realizes that he wants Luna for more than a fling, but the problem will be convincing her that he's worth the risk.Luna Clark knows exactly what kind of man Joe Winston is. A love 'em and leave 'em type of guy. She has no intention of getting caught up in an affair where she'll get her heartbroken. The problem is that she needs his help. She has two orphaned cousins that need her and she needs Joe to convince the town to leave the innocent kids alone. Little did she know that when they all got under one roof, she would want more, for it feels suspiciously like they're playing house, and all enjoying it. The chemistry between Luna and Joe is awesome, some of Lori's best, in my opinion. I also liked it because it was longer than her usual books, so there was more for me! Don't miss it!

SAY NO TO JOE? Why Would I?,
By Morgan Arce (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Say No to Joe? (Visitation, Book 1) (Paperback)
The title says it all. SAY NO TO JOE? Yeah, that's what this reviewer wondered as she settled in to read. Who COULD say no? Well, Apparently, Luna Clark is the holdout in this, the latest work by Lori Foster that continues the series featuring the Winston Brothers. But it's romance so, never fear, readers! Joe Winston is the cousin of the 4 Winston Brothers, and though he's been a loner, never relying on anyone, women in particular, he's got his work cut out for him when he sets his sights on Luna Clark, a friend of his cousin's new wife. He thinks that if he can get Luna in his bed, he'll get her OUT of his system...but that never happens, does it? No. Luna finds herself out of her element. She's a free spirit, the bohemian type, but when she learns that two young orphaned relatives are in need of a guardian, she agrees to go to the children. But she enlists Joe's help to protect them as there have been incidences threatening the children that can't be ignored. Joe readily agrees. Not only is he outraged that anyone would dare frighten kids, but he needs to get out of town anyway; his last job as a bounty hunter, tracking a bad guy is still open ended. He was beaten within an inch of his life and he needs a place to fully recover. What better place than out of state, away from danger, but keeping an eye on Luna's two young charges, and keeping a close eye on the object of his lusty desires, Luna herself? The story is intricately woven with subplots, and each page turn is like another piece of the puzzle, fitting together and making sense out of the teasing elements throughout. Readers may see a deeper, more sensitive Joe Winston than the one that was introduced in ZANE, Ms. Foster's most recently penned novel in that series. But if this hero didn't possess the protective instincts and have a heart that could be softened by a child's smile, or a sassy love interest, then he wouldn't BE a Lori Foster hero. Family, loyalty, and honor are what readers have come to associate with this author, and she never disappoints. SAY NO TO JOE? is no exception. SAY NO TO JOE? is filled with love, laughter, suspense, and sensuality. Add to that, many new characters are introduced in this twisting, fun turning tale. This reviewer will be waiting for updates and watching for news of release dates for them.

A fast and sexy read--Joe has it all,
By Judy "book reader" (Cincinnati, ohio United States) - See all my reviews

In Lori Foster's book Wild we were first introduced to Joe Winston, the irresistible cousin. Joe has always had women fawning all over him except one, Luna Clark. Luna is a strong-minded, independent woman and has never needed anyone to depend on until now. Luna has inherited two young cousins (Willow and Austin) that need her help. She in turn needs Joe's help in showing the town where the kids live that they can no longer push them around. Joe sees helping Luna at first as a golden opportunity to get Luna where he wants her, in his bed.... As Joe and Luna share a home with the kids, they both realize they want more then just a quick fling. The chemistry between Luna and Joe is so hot you can feel the heat leap off the pages. Their emotional connection to each other and the kids will warm your heart. This book is well worth the wait since Joe first charmed me in Wild. Joe has everything you could want in a male character and Luna is a heroine that can hold her own with Joe. I just loved this book, could not read it fast enough. It is a keeper.

This one's a keeper!,

Generally, I don't like Lori Foster's books, at least the ones I've looked at; they're usually, IMO, short on good story and long on erotic scenes. So, when the folks at The Book Rack in St. Louis recommended Say No To Joe? I hemmed, hawed, dithered, and finally relented and bought it. Couldn't have made a better purchase for the summer!Say No To Joe? is a fun read. Good story, interesting characters that the reader can actually care about and enjoy, good plot with interesting kinks in it, and good dialogue. Moreover, the story is well written. In my book, that makes for a hit. This Lori Foster book is a definite keeper!

God help Joe Winston, the big lug. Kicking butt his is idea of good times. Getting the one and only woman who denies him would be great times. Since the first day he met the free spirited Luna Clark three months ago, he has wanted her so bad his teeth hurt. He knows it'd be a mind blowing romp between the sheets. If he could only get the chance to prove it to Luna who, damn her, is resisting. He'd have to slowly chip away at her defenses. Luna is a strong woman. It will take some time. But she doesn't exactly hang around him much.
Enter fate. Luna Clark is a woman. And all women react to bad boy Joe Winston's good looks and charm. She must keep Joe at a safe distance or else she will take a nasty tumble towards the heart breaker. But then she learns her young cousins need her. She also learns the town isn't fond of her cousins and she'll need some help. She'll need someone fearless, someone intimidating, someone she could trust, someone who could steal her heart. Enter Joe Winston

Nice easy reading,

I bought this book after reading all the glorifying reviews in Amazon.com. Well, I'd say that this is just a nice easy reading, The plot has potential, but somehow it turned out to be too light and superficial.I don't feel too keen about the characters too. I couldn't feel the deep emotional bond between the lead characters, eventhough Ms. Fosters described the play of emotion between them in so many words somehow it just didn't work out for me. The suspense she tried to create by introducing the mysterious assailant could not help pick up the tempo. In the end I'm glad I finished the book, I'd hate paying for it and never finish it, out of bore. If you're looking for a simple easy romance novel to kill the time, then this one can sufficiently fit the bill, but if you want to read a romantic suspense novel where you can get so carried away with the story and bonded with the characters, this is not the one for you. I won't buy the Secret Life of Bryant which is the sequel of this book.

I'll forego the description, since that's been done. I love Lori Foster's comedic style. She's tops in this genre and always delivers a good read. I loved the secondary characters with this one and the (...) chemistry between free-spirited Luna and confirmed bachelor, hottie Joe. The two teenagers add more flavor to the story. One great read!

Luna Clark may be the only woman to ever say no to the irresistible Joe Winston, which may be why he wants her so badly. When he is around her, Joe looses control of his wayward tongue, his better sense and his lust So when Luna seeks him out, Joe will do almost anything for her, including moving to a small town in North Carolina to help her to protect her young charges. Besides, disappearing for a while might be a good idea since his last job as a bounty hunter has yet to be resolved. Indeed, a little recovery time and a lot of time with Luna suits him fine. Free spirited, bohemian Luna never expected to fall in love with her cousin's children so quickly. After seven guardians, they are understandably suspicious and it does seem as if the whole town is out to get them. For three months she has wanted Joe, dreaming and fantasizing about him. Despite her ongoing attraction to Joe, she doggedly says no to him because she refuses to play for less than for keeps. Nevertheless, she needs his help. Besides, despite his tough guy attitude, he knows a heck of lot more about children than she does. Once again Lori Foster creates a hero no women can say no to with SAY NO TO JOE? Foster has a gift for creating scintillating tales that curl the toes and are impossible to put down. Luna is a sultry goddess that finds Joe impossibly tempting. While she might have a reputation for flighty fancy, she comes through for two troubled children in need of love and consistency. Fans have been eagerly awaiting Joe's story since his appearance in WILD. He might start out wishing for a wild fling, but it does not take long for Joe to recognize his heart's need for both Luna and the children. With plenty of action, comedy, wonderful secondary characters and a fun plot, SAY NO TO JOE belongs on the keeper shelf, coming very highly recommended.

Lori Foster's book is the story of one of her characters that was previously introduced in her past books--a cousin to the popular Winston brothers. Joe Winston is a former bounty hunter who is recovering from a beating. Luna is an eccentric woman who needs his help- it seems that she has inherited the guardianship of her 2 distant relatives and must move to a small town to raise them. She is expecting trouble with the kids and the town and brings Joe along for protection. Joe is eager to go along- he is trying to find out who is after him and wants to get closer to the lovely Luna. |
