Basically just the paper version of the tv episode. The images are great and the story holds a good moral for kids. It should be noted that my 20 month old (who is infatuated with Tasha) pulled the book apart (well, he pulled the cover off anyway) within 24 hours of receiving it. These backyardigan books are stapled together, so be careful when giving them to infants/toddlers.

If your child likes the tv show The Backyardigans, then they will like the book. It is basically a written copy of the show. Some pages contain a lot of words, but at bedtime, I shorten it a bit. I would order more of these books.

The book pretty much goes along with the TV show. Reinforces the need to say please and thank you, along with treating others well. My daughter loves it, but loves the show also. Worth the few $ I spent.

The book was illustrated by one of my favorite illustrators--Zina Saunders. I ordered it for my great niece and it's an adorable book.

My 3 year old daughter loves the backyardigans and I got her this book and she just loves looking at the pictures. It is not a hard cover books for smaller children because the pages could rip easily. I would recommend it to 3 yrs or older.

Good to learn the Magic Words!!,

Our 3 year old daughter loves this book. She now runs around chanting, "Say Please!" The only problem is she now thinks that every time you want something you will get it as long as you say ,"Please." It is very cute, so now we tell her, "Thank you for using your manners, but you cannot have that right now, lets go do something else." It is a nice story to reinforce our teachings of saying please and thank you very much--or as she puts it, "Thank you much!"

This story is about one of the characters never saying please or thank you and thus learning the value of doing so. It is all done through pretend play, in a non threatening or confrontational manner. I suggest reading it through before reading it to your child. My best guess at an appropriate age range is 1 and a half to 5.

This very short book is a simplified recap of the episode "The Key to the Nile." Nothing great, nothing wrong with it.
