The voices on the tape are extremely clear. They speak at a normal rate of speed. The book has all the dialogue in English and Polish. It is an excellent supplement to your Polish lessons.

A well thought out language book that does not overwhelm you. If there is any such thing as a friendly and inviting book, with a great personality, then this is truly one of them.

This is also a great gift idea. Aside from the great learning value, the artwork and presentation have a very happy, upbeat feeling about it.

Czesc!: pronounced Cheshch - hard CH at the end. Czesc! is the Polish Ciao!

Czesc!: literally means honor, but is used, informally, to mean hello/goodbye for Poles. Again, similar to the way the Italians use Ciao!/Chow

Take it from myself and many, world traveling academicesque friends: The next time you greet or meet a Pole, say Czesc/Cheshch, and you will have a new and appreciative friend for life.. Nothing goes further for the Poles, and Polish-Americans than a little respect. What a wonderful and welcoming people and culture. Here is your first word: Czesc!!!

It is true that the speakers in the CD speak at normal everyday speed. However, I think that the beauty of the exercises is that they are at normal speed, that one can have the hearing become used to normal every day speaking and thus be able to understand more of the spoken Polish. It also has reviews of the same materials at slower speed, and a vocabulary review at the end of each section. I am very please with it, and I am a beginner. I wish the company would make another book and CD, maybe with longer conversations.

While this does seem to be a nice product, even lesson one went way too fast for me to get anything out of it. I have had to put it aside until my Polish gets better.
