Book Description

April 2002
We live in times of change. More than ever before, people change their careers and move into new cities. The divorce rate is at an all-time high. And, as always, there are unavoidable changes that come with being human: loved ones pass away, children grow up, friends move away. These changes can cause unwanted stress and anxiety. 'Say Yes to Change' provides clear, practical solutions for overcoming fears, enabling readers to face future transitions and challenges with confidence. The Cappanelli's detail twenty-four steps for building this confidence. Each step is explained in a short, easy-to-read chapter, and every chapter includes self-examination and goal-setting exercises that enable readers to clarify where they are in life vs. where they want to be.

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Change is unavoidable, say corporate consultants George and Sedena Cappannelli. Yet if one knows how to deal with it properly, change can actually help one find and maintain balance and meaning. In Say Yes to Change: 25 Keys to Winning in Times of Transition, the authors present realistic ways to handle the birth of children, new primary relationships, career changes and more. Eliminate limiting beliefs, they say, and worship spontaneity, act with detachment and stay present. Each of the 25 chapters ends with exercises that will help readers put the Cappannellis' suggestions into action.

5.0 out of 5 stars Say "YES",to Say Yes To Change!, August 15, 2002
By
"mom2twoaz" (Prescott, AZ USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Say Yes to Change: 25 Keys to Winning in Times of Transition (Hardcover)
Say Yes To Change has literally changed my life. Facing a huge life transition, I was nervous, depressed and confused. Having two small children, I knew I had to get a grip on my situation and turn things around. The changes began the moment I read the
first chapter and began doing the (simple yet very effective) exercises. Immediately my attitude began to change. I felt uplifted and empowered. My actions and words instantly became more positive, and I could see the results they were having on my husband and children. I can't recommend this book enough to any one who is facing any kind of change. The ideas and exercises are applicable for virtually any circumstance. Thank
you George and Sedena for a wonderful literary work, that truly
inspires and motivates!

5.0 out of 5 stars There's never been a time when change has been so necessary, July 4, 2002
This review is from: Say Yes to Change: 25 Keys to Winning in Times of Transition (Hardcover)
This is a timely book for this moment in history, when humanity is so mired in a war metaphor -- from the war on drugs, to the war on terror, and even to thinking we need a war to deal with poverty. A profound change of thinking to a way that's less divisive and destructive is necessary for our very salvation. Since collective change starts with personal change, ways that help us to think more intelligently about ourselves are valuable now. This book is a workshop on personal change that's imbedded in an understanding of the potential of humanity as a spirit-filled species. It could be used as a manual for group activity in work situations, where a few people could get together to turn lunch hour into a growth experience. It would be a great tool for Human Development Departments in big businesses, where unfacilitated groups would be able just to follow the exercises at the end of each of the 25 explanations of changeful ways of seeing and being. And, any individual with the self-discipline to do the exercises could save a lot of money on workshops that are out there by just following the instructions in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Timely Gem, March 26, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Say Yes to Change: 25 Keys to Winning in Times of Transition (Hardcover)
Given the difficult times we're living in today, this book speaks to the changes all of us are making. The authors offer specific advice on every aspect of how to make that change in a way that's positive and productive. Several friends borrowed my copy before buying one of their own, and we all agree that the authors bring a fresh, brave, intelligent, and nurturing voice to their message about how to use change to lead a more joyful life. The short chapters also make it an easy book to use for daily inspiration.
