Simcha Raz is both a great storyteller and a real student of Hasidism. In this collection he gathers stories and sayings of one of the greatest, and yet most enigmatic of Hasidic Rabbis, the Kotzker. The Kotzker could be extremely sharp and tough and his wisdom often has a strong bite to it. Yet he , who told the world that God is where we let God in, also provides a strong example of heroic religious struggle with the depths of despair.
