this is just as pretty as it appears in the picture. it is very forgiving to imperfect walls, requires no grout and looks spectacular. it looked fairly easy to install, except for the cutting part, but otherwise, not bad. if i had more places to put this tile, i would buy more!

I purchased this for my backsplash. It is gorgeous and the color is very neutral. I used it with cream colored cabinets. It is the first thing people comment on. The look is classic elegance. I am buying for my daughter's kitchen too.

I wanted to install a backsplash in my kitchen to help unify many disparate design elements: dark grey concreted countertops, buttermilk-colored travertine floors, white porcelain sinks, golden wood cabinets, etc. After searching for months, I discovered Scabos travertine which - containing all of the colors from my kitchen and more - was perfect. Searching around, I found that ORACLE TILE & STONE had the best variety of Scabos product, so I ordered a number of samples from them:

When it arrived, every piece was exactly as pictured. The colors were rich, vibrant and stunning. Every piece of the tile was clearly Scabos travertine, mottled with the lovely colors you expect from quality Scabos: yellows, browns, oranges, greys, white and burgundy.

After some experimentation, I decided on a design for the backsplash, ordered more tile (from ORACLE), and hired a local tile company to install it. Even the pros were highly impressed with the quality of the tile, commenting that it was some of the most beautiful they had seen.

Since my initial purchase, I have ordered more Scabos from ORACLE, and it is consistently lovely. I will definitely be continuing to purchase this product, from this supplier.

I purchased 4 different looks/colors and settled on this one. I got my wife's opinion as we looked online, but I figured that getting samples was the right thing to do. Good thing, too, as she didn't like this by picture but we agreed it was the best match from samples. I stripped and refinished 45 year old cabinets in our kitchen and stained them Cherry. We picked our travertine to match that, and this was the winner. It cut well with a wet tile saw, but my only issue was once wet, the mesh backing/glue was inconsistent, and generally required careful handling to prevent tiles coming loose. Perhaps more glue on the mesh would solve the problem, as a few were glued very well and held up better.
The product was packaged very well. I contacted the vendor for which mortar and sealant to use, and they very quickly provided recommendations, which worked well. My advice is to use Enrich 'n Seal on this product for sealing; it really brought out the colors beautifully. I contemplated a less expensinve product, but I am very happy with my results of my selection. I used a varnish brush to apply it. I'd give it 5 stars if only it held up better in a soaking from the wet saw, but the end result is a 5 star look.

I recieved the Scabos Splitface last night and although it was packed well around the side with liquid blown in foam, many of the pieces were broken on the sheets. I did call and they are sending out the pieces to replace them. Secondly, the color wasn't anywhere near that of the pictures. There wasn't any of the rose or peach that I wanted, it was all grey and gold. Thirdly I believe this is from Mexico which is a poor grade of stone. Some of the pieces looked like concrete. Next time I will get my tile locally so I can see what I get. I saw much nicer pieces here but went to Amazon for the price, but next time I will know better.
