5.0 out of 5 stars Excallent Interperation of Vygotsky's Work, March 31, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Scaffolding Children's Learning: Vygotsky and Early Childhood Education (Naeyc Research Into Practice Series, Vol. 7) (Paperback)
I was fascinated by the information presented in this book, especially with the insight into children with serious learning and behavior problems. It gave me information that I was able to use with children I was working with who displayed the difficulties described in the book. What a tremendous help!

5.0 out of 5 stars Learn how to scaffold learning, May 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Scaffolding Children's Learning: Vygotsky and Early Childhood Education (Naeyc Research Into Practice Series, Vol. 7) (Paperback)
In todays' education circles they are constantly talking about "scaffoldiing" the learning, but they seldom go through the steps of how to do it. Year's ago Lev Vygotsky watched children learn and developed just how they learn. Taking these natural steps used by children he then developed how we as educators can duplicate this learning effectively. I've used his techniques for many years now and find they always work. In the area of language learning his teachings are invaluable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great For Terminology and Academic Use, July 11, 2010

This review is from: Scaffolding Children's Learning: Vygotsky and Early Childhood Education (Naeyc Research Into Practice Series, Vol. 7) (Paperback)
This book provides a very detailed and comprehensive look at Vygotsky's Sociocultural theory with defenitions of terms, demonstrative examples, and comparisons to other theories (mainly Piaget's). It is a dense read, but a great resource for academic purposes or to get better acquianted with the theory, and good use as a refernce guide, as well.
