A Great Companion to Ralph Fletcher's Book, January 10, 2007
This review is from: Scaffolding Young Writers: A Writer's Workshop Approach (Paperback)
Writing is a process and it can be taught to the very youngest 4 year olds.
This book is a wonderous way to help plan how to introduce this cycle to young children. It's chock full of many tips and warnings against setting to high of a set of expectations and against being to rigid and teacher-centered in its approach.
It's a great companion to Ralph Fletcher's WRITER'S NOTEBOOK because it simply embelishes those ideas with more illustrious examples.

Fantastic, April 7, 2008

I love this book. It was recommended to me by another teacher because it has some great ideas to use in your classroom. It gives teachers ideas on classroom management also, which is always useful. Would be really great for beginning teachers and those that are feeling just a little 'stale'.

I was looking more for information on assessment, which this book did not go in-depth in, but the information was good and she is a reputable author.
