#10 blades,

This review is from: Scalpel Blades- # 10 (Box of 100) (Health and Beauty)
These are individually wrapped, nicely stacked in the box shipping was fairly quick. I was not charged s&h for the product so I have no complaints there. Don't be confused by the picture, you are getting a single box of #10 blades 100 count.

I use these in a human dissection lab. They are just fine. Not as good as B-P, but not much worse. For the price, these can't be beat.

Now that more people are learning Dermaplaning dermabrasion the price of these has skyrocketed to very stupid prices. This box, however, gives you the same blade for a penny that others charge $1 for. And, at the time I bought mine the seller was offering free shipping and as I was not charged shipping or tax, that made the bargain even better.
I should back up a bit and explain my use of a scalpel on the net if none of that made sense. I was fortunate enough to take a professional course on dermaplaning which is the newest form of microdermabrasion...I would never have done microdermabrasion as it just tears off the top layer of your skin and you look like you've been mauled for days--yes the end result is no breakouts and less lines but I just couldn't do that. To make a long story short, I fell into a dermaplaning class with a professional friend. This removes about 3-4 weeks of dead skin in a few minutes, as well as all fine hairs on the face, and the reason we age is that our skin no longer renews itself as it did in our youth--so age spots, acne scars, and lines stay there. This does the job our bodies stopped doing for us and is basically like shaving, with a few changes but no less safe. It is always done with a #10 blade in a handle, moved in ONE direction (loads of people not trained well or "trained" via youtube, go back and forth...bad for your skin.) BUT it must be an individually wrapped blade for sterile reasons and it needs to be very sharp, which I was told this brand was. I have had great results with it. The shape is perfect for dermaplaning without cutting, it's sharp enough that there are no nicks or issues...and it works well. The picture is a little misleading as it's one small box with only one kind of blade in it, #10, even though the pic on the box shows all types of blades-- but the price truly cannot be beat. I actually saw a dermaplaning site selling the same box of blades for a few HUNDRED dollars. Because one dermaplaning session can cost over $100 I suppose people who think they can do it themselves figure it's a bargain but that's just laughable. I think they may have even had #14 blades with it, which are not what professionals actually use. I only use this on myself and only after proper training but the results are nothing short of astonishing so for those who have been trained and are looking for blades for that purpose (other than dermplaning and art projects, I can't imagine why else they'd be bought on the net? Maybe med school? Otherwise I figure the hospital is purchasing them for docs! **Shudder**)

Model Building & Electronic Work,

I have been building plastic & wood models since I was a small boy (now 50). I have been using surgical blades to cut and trim my models for about 30 years now. They hold a very sharp blade, and unlike the modeling knives that have been released by various companies, these are very inexpensive in bulk and easily interchangeable on a scalpel.

Knife Blades are perfect. Don't know if I'll ever use 100 in my lifetime but they fit my knife blade and I use them for sewing and my knitting machine crafts. Very sharp and dangerous to leave sticking up.

Fit perfectly and work very well. I use them for anatmoy dissection labs, and they never give me any problems. Not much else you can write. The shipping was very fast, and I had no problems with the transaction, either. I recommend this to any medical student or whoever is looking for quality blades.

I bought a box of scalpel blades for $10.98. To my surprise, I was charged $7.25 for shipping and handling. The package was sent first-class mail, which is appreciated; but it weighed 5 oz, so postage at the retail rate is $1.10 (and merchants usually pay a lower rate). It was packed in a small padded envelope which cost maybe $0.50. BP Medical Supplies is clearly using a high shipping-and-handling fee to deceive the customer into thinking that he is getting a good deal.

Expired product,

I got an expired product, manufactured 01 2008 and expired 01 2011. I don't know how this affects the sterility of the product. I sent an email to the vendor, and they offered me to return the product for exchange or refund. But since the product is cheap, it's not worth the hassle and the shipping cost to refund it. I guess that might be a part of the vendors plan to get rid of these expired products.
