First, full disclosure, i am a fan of Brian Brushwood. So, this was an automatic buy for me. Now, for my honest opinion.
If you have never heard of Scam School, the premise is simple. Go to a bar. Bet a friend you can do something, they can do something, you can't do something, they can't do something. Get them to buy you a drink.
Simple, right? Then we get into the actual tricks. There are "Scams" for every level, delivery advice, video show and demonstrating the scam, and audio explaining the reasoning behind each one. So, you get the free beer, and get to sound smart. The weaving of sound, video, and text is such a great experience, thanks to catering to how we actually learn, by immersing all of our sense into the subject. Brian's precise style make sure that you will really be able to handle doing the tricks in this book, even after you have scammed that first drink.
Tricks did I say? Didn't I mention? Brian is a professional magician, doing the college circuit across the U.S. He has appeared on Letterman.
And he does a free podcast that teaches similar tricks to you. Did i mention FREE? Search for scam school to see his style of teaching for free. And, you can also watch this guy on the TWiT network, where he co-hosts other free podcasts on a weekly basis.
So, reading this book, I felt i knew what to expect. After all, this is just a rehash of his podcast, right? Boy was I surprised. With all new content, and presented in a way i have never seen before, fully imersive, this book's presentation blew my mind.
I would buy the book again, even though I don't go to bars. This book is just FUN!
