This is an improvement on the momentum off "Here comes Trouble" - the novelty didn't wear off. The band sound is more robust - as Paul's guitar sound is wider. The record had no commercial impact - but the song "Taste Just like Chicken" pokes fun at commerical music. Also "Grandma's House of Babes" is a humorous and funky romp through the swamps of Louisiana and whorehouse gator zoo that follows.

Arrived on the Scene Just a Couple Years Too Late,

Scatterbrain is simply a fun metal band. They had the musicianship and talent to really make a big splash, but unfortunately they arrived just as Grunge was taking over, and their hair metal-meets-melodic-comedy approach was just a blip on the radar. With a solid debut, "Here Comes Trouble" they seemed poised to break through and their follow-up disk "Scamboogery" while solid, just didn't provide the right showcase for their talent.
Big Fun - A great tune which highlights the bands sense of humor, but doesn't sacrifice their musical talent. Fine Line - One of my favorite Scatterbrain tunes, instantly memorable with a chorus that will immediately burn itself into your brainpan. Tastes Just Like Chicken - This song is the reason you should pick up the disk. Chock full of fun tongue twisters and a scathing commentary on pop music. Excellent tune. Grandma's House of Babes - Decent song, but it doesn't live up to it's title. Sonata #11 - Just in case you hand any doubt about their musical talent. Bartender - Really cool song, perfect beer drinking anthem. Scamboogery - Funky tune, with a great bass line. Swiss Army Girl - Goofy premise, the comedy falls flat in a forgettable song. Logic - Decent tune that doesn't really go anywhere, feels almost like a filler tune. Down the Road (Rock and Roll Ain't Pretty) - Excellent song, great way to wrap up the disk. One of the greatest things about Scatterbrain was their ability to write some cool funky tunes, that actually had mainstream potential, but they never sacrificed the blistering guitar, heavy drum and bass work. The quirky lyrics may have hindered them more than anything, but one thing is certainly true, almost 2 decades later Scatterbrain still stands apart from other hair metal bands with a distinct personality.

this album falls flat compared to their first release, startingoff with funky funny(make ya think)songs like''big fun''and ''fine line''and all around drips of artistic achievment, but listeners(me)would prefer the''here comes trouble''album. if you want to try out scatterbrain, then buy it cause its cheap. so why four stars, because they deserve a good rating.
