Haunted Past, February 22, 2009
This review is from: Scandalous Truth (Urban Christian) (Paperback)
Monica you did a great job putting this one together. The events were very vivid in my mind as I turned each page. I was right there in the book walking every step of the way with Nikki. This story goes back to what the old folks say, "what's done in the dark will one day come to the light". If you got skeletons in your closet, people will find them. Nikki finds herself the talk of the town and nearly destroying her marriage to Will because she didn't have faith in God. Typical everyday people get in a hurry and can't wait on God and his blessings. Nikki's faith in God is restored as it should be. Mrs. Carter, Congratulations to a job well done. All Good Things Come To An End!!, January 12, 2009
This review is from: Scandalous Truth (Urban Christian) (Paperback)
Overall - this is a good, solid read!
Nikki has to come to grips with her own decisions & the consequences of her choices. From the beginning, she has to learn to be honest with herself first! She is her biggest obstacle and must face reality.
This book deals with jealousy, lies, betrayal, trust, hurt, shame, politics, and scheming. All the ingredients for a page turning book.
Monica does a great job of establishing her characters in this book, there weren't any questions left unanswered (none I could think of). Also, there is suspense and murder involved!
Though the plot thickens, Nikki's husband doesn't change much; although I thought he would, running for the public's political office. As the story unfolds, you'll learn of the twist in the end - IT'S WORTH THE WAIT!!
Pay close attention to the relationships established throughout this work (Troy, Nikki's friend & Sheila); note* it's not always what it seems* My opinion of Nikki's friend changed in the end - yours will too!!
WHAT A WOMAN WILL DO FOR THE LIFE OF HER CHILD!!
