The best single pan for the family on the go,
By Scott A. Martin (Lawrenceville, Georgia USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Scanpan Classic 6.5 Quart Covered Dutch Oven (Kitchen)
If you could own only one of the ScanPan products, this is the one to have! We use this pan to cook soups and stews, stir-fry meats and vegetables and even to bake in. It's large enough to cook a meal for a family yet still light enough to handle easily. Its high sides allow you to stir-fry or deep-fry without the oil spitting all over the range-top. The ScanPan non-stick coating is a wonderful material. Almost everything just rinses off it. More tenacious materials, like burned-on gravy from beef stew, can usually be removed simply by soaking overnight, with a quick handwash in the morning. If all else fails the factory-supplied steel wool will polish it right up! We cook in one of these pans almost every day and love it!

A basic for everyday use,

This review is from: Scanpan Classic 3-1/4-Quart Covered Stock Pot (Kitchen)
I LOVE this pot! It's just the right size for so many tasks, and with 2 stay-cool handles it's easy on the wrists, secure to move to sink or elsewhere, and takes less room on the stove than a typical large saucepan with a long handle. For boiling smaller quantities of pasta, I find this pot ideal: it pours easily and comfortably into a colander, and the nonstick surface cleans up without a hitch (i.e., no left-behind sticky gluten that's hard to get off). A BIG added bonus: as well as fitting the Scanpan 8" frypan, the lid also fits perfectly on the 8" omelet pan that tops the LeCreuset 2-qt multifunction pan. In addition to this pot, other Scanpan pieces are "naturals" because of their ability to tolerate high heat and metal utensils: the wok, the grill pan, and the rectangular roaster.
