For all those who have not heard of this scottish author i urge you to take a leap of faith, scar night doesn't disappoint. In a world of generic fantasy novels this is the first book i have read in years that feels truly original. Full of interesting characters, plot twists, violence and history it tells the story of a city of chains, suspended above the fallen god Ulcis whose promise of salvation may not be all its cracked up to be.

Trust me, buy this book, then buy the two sequals, you won't regret it.
