Magical,

This review is from: Scardust (Paperback)
This book is utterly amazing! I have had medical issues myself from childhood that has left me physically scared. Reading this book has given me a new perspective even as an adult. The illustrations are absolutely wonderful and the story is touching. If only this book had been written years ago! I highly recommend it to children and adults alike.

This is a well written, well illustrated very poignant story that delves into the worries of young people faced with scarring. It gives a young mind some escape of knowing their scars have unique and special meaning- It is a MUST read and MUST know for any young or old person who faces or has faced scarring. This book should be in every surgeon's waiting room!!

Met the Author Today,

Thought I would share a little of my morning today. I met Jennifer at a networking event. It wasn't her wonderful book that impressed me, for though I was captivated by the images and only glanced at a few of the words, it was the aura of the author herself that so impressed me.Looking at her, I would have never guessed the personal trauma she has gone through in her 29 years. She radiates energy, vibrance, and joy. Talking with her about her book, I began to realize through her words that this was a story about her. But even before I realized that, I recognized her desire to help others. She has written this book not just because she has a poweful story to tell, but because she beleives that by telling her story as she does, that she can help other heal their wounds, and take joy in their scars. Her scars make her who she is, and she is a truly wonderful person. If you know of someone who has suffered scars in their lives, consider gifting them with this book. |
