Book Description

8 and up3 and upGoosebumps
The best-selling scare series of all time brings you a thrilling repackage of the field of screams!

Jodie loves visiting her grandparents' farm. Okay, so it's not the most exciting place in the world. Still, Grandpa tells great scary stories. And Grandma's chocolate chip cookies are the best.

But this summer the farm has really changed. The cornfields are sparse. Grandma and Grandpa seem worn out. And the single scarecrow has been replaced by twelve evil-looking ones.

Then one night Jodie sees something really odd. The scarecrows seem to be moving. Twitching on their stakes. Coming alive . . .

My son and I took turns reading this book aloud. I had a hard time passing it back to him...I just couldn't stop reading! Great suspense and mystery. Find our what happens when two children spend summer vacation on their grandparent's farm. I'll bet Mark and Jodi can't wait to return home and back to school. Just when you think the farm is back to normal ...well, I'm not telling!

A Kid's Review
The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight by R.L. Stine

Jodie can already imagine the stories her grandpa will be telling around the fireplace at night. She can also taste her grandma's chocolate chip pancakes. Guess again! When Jodie and her brother Mark get there, they realize that their grandparents are out-of-shape. Then one night, Jodie sees the twelve new scarecrows trying to get off their stakes! Will people believe her? If you're hoping to be a farmer, read this book.

This book was okay. I chose this book because it looked the really scary. I also picked this book because I like the Goosebumps series.

I think R.L. Stine tried to show how people can cooperate. Or, he wanted to show us how much responsibility you need on a farm.
