Keeps herons, cats and raccoons away from fish pond.

Since the bracket is poorly designed (too big to clamp down securely on the main water shaft) the hose twists the unit out of line.

I've tried several ways to repel cats and other animals from my backyard where they would do their "business." I tried several chemical powders and ultra high pitched sensors. Nothing worked. But the Scarecrow was 100% effective. This is no exaggeration. My only slight quibble is a tendency sometimes for a slight water leak around the connections to the garden hose. If it is inconvenient to turn it on and off from the water faucet, I would recommend buying an inexpensive shut off valve (Amazon.com) like the Dramm #12353 heavy duty brass shut-off valve), to be placed between the Scarecrow and the hose.

After giving a positive review I have to recant my rating. The company does not respond to emails or calls, if you need parts you are out of luck. My unit of 2 years died and the latest one purchased lasted only 3 months. The deer after a while realize the spray pattern and go around the 100 degree spray field. The components are sealed so there is little repair that can be done beyond modular swaps for parts you can't get. Two units have problems with the sensor and simply do not work any more. That means you have a 33% chance of getting a good unit that continues to work. It appears you get a zero chance of support from the company after the purchase. I now give the product ZERO stars!

We live in a residental neighborhood of 2 acre lots with plenty of tree line and shrubs for deer to hide. At one time I counted 23 deer in our yard. We have tried numerous products including 8 foot deer netting which the deer jump over burst through or crawled under. Yes they are smart enough to crawl under the netting if not secured to the ground every couple of feet. We no longer have a fence and do not leave the terrible smelling deterants about. Every plant that was supposed to deter the deer they ate. Eveidently the deer do not read the same gardening journals. For two years we have successfully kept the deer away with 3 well positioned Scarecrows. The deer are startled and jump away no matter how many times they have the experience. Now they rarely come into that are of the yard where we have a well established garden that we no longer share with the deer.

It keeps away the rabbits as well another problem for our garden, but squirrels don't seem to care after a while and wonder about under the scarecrows. Squirrels are not a problem for us so we are quit pleased.

I am laughing at myself....my advice is read the
instructions before you turn the water on. I had it
backwards and promptly drenched myself three times.

After trapping 5 oppossums and one full raccoon in my
front flower bed...I live one block off of Main Street. I have turned to the "Scarecrow" and it works....

Great product. No problems with groundhogs, rabbits or other varmits so far. The dog and I just need to remember that we will get sprayed if we get too close to the garden. Covers our whole garden. My husband was skeptical about the product, but now he's telling everyone what a neat toy he has to keep animals out of his garden.

My scarecrow worked for a couple of weeks. I was really excited when I saw two squirrels get blasted by water. However, the scarecrow stopped working. I've tried 3 batteries and still nothing. I called customer service and a recording told me that call volume was high. I couldn't even stay on hold to speak so someone. I left a message with my phone number. That was a week ago and I still haven't heard from them. I also emailed them a week ago and haven't seen a return email. Meanwhile, the squirrels are becoming comfortable in my garden. I had high hopes because of the good reviews. Huge disappointment and a waste of money.

Bought this item to keep the neighbors cats out of my garden-it works great. Those little felines take one step in my flower bed and are blasted with water. Never see more than 2 sets of footprints-one in-one out. I am thinking about buying another one for another part of my garden.

I live in the woods with 5,000 acres of deer-filled nature preserve on two sides of me. After constants battles (that I always lost), I bought this product last June and since then the deer have not touched even a leaf - nor roses, hostas, trillium, and other deer candy - in what I now think of as the DMZ. Just ordered more to expand the area.

I got this to stop birds from perching on my dock and relieving themselves. After putting the scarecrow together and putting it in the proper place I found it very difficult to stop it from leaking. IT seems to shake itself loose sometimes and start leaking. I came out one morning to a fairly good gusher. Having said that it works......when it works. The birds are now scared of coming by the dock for fear of getting hosed so I've turned it off and it sits there for fear effect only.
