I am a home school mom. My 11 year-old daughter & I were doing a study on "The Great Depression". This was a very good story of the influence The Depression had on a "middle school" aged girl. It was even an enjoyable read for me. (I read all of the books she reads so that I can properly grade her work. Some of them I enjoy, some I don't. I really enjoyed this one.) I hope this helps you make your decision to purchase this wonderful book.
