This is simply a great shoe. It is supportive but does not interfere with feeling the ground. I use it to cross train and while it is not cushioned I feel very secure and able to jump, lift and balance any weight in any direction. Excellent shoe for training your body in multiple planes of motion. It doesn't matter if I'm doing deadlifts, plyometrics, or single leg balance exercises, this shoe keeps me focused on what's important and not what's on my feet.

I am a trainer and coach and have used lots of different shoes including top of the line Nike, Adidas, etc. I am always picking these up for use in my studio.

On another note: I truly respect Scarpa as a company: the quality that they build into each and every product shows in every detail. There's a lot of stuff produced in Asia right now that is more expensive and falls apart in 8 months. If you are particular and like solid, functional design, you will like Scarpa's products and these shoes.

this is a great walking shoe. perfect for 2 - 5 hour on the road walks. I have not tried it in rough terrain yet but looking forward to it. it grips the road beautifully and holds the ankles tightly while pushing on the top of the foot for a very secure fit. I imagine it may be too hot for summer walks.

Awsome shoe!! Short break in time and comfotable out of the box. It grips the ground well. It felt hot initially but this resolved after break in period. Scrapa makes good quality reliable products. I would highly recommend this versetile shoe.

I was looking for a comfortable replacement for my scarpa skywalkers now not available , so purchased the zen . They are every bit as comfortable if not more so, only problem I have is that the soles pick up small stones from our gravel paths and I cart them inside ,not good for family relations.

This is a very well designed and constructed 'approach shoe' which means a stiff light hiker intended for difficult trails or some boulder scrambling. For this purpose it has a rigid structure and narrow box. Extremely high quality and worth the money as a technical shoe; it is not a sneaker and if that's all you want, you can find lots of them cheaper and more comfortable elsewhere.

The only caveat about this boot is that the sizes are a bit idiosyncratic and you would do better to find a local shop to try it on instead of ordering from the internet. Scarpa makes their products in different factories in Eastern Europe and they all come out a little different. Try it on first and remember it should be a bit close fitting in front.

Theses are terrific shoes. A dream to wear and extremely comfortable.

Solid support with comfortable insole which has a little give.

Versatile style that works with khakis, jeans etc.

Scarpa is a solid Italian brand.

On a plus side, these are the first shoes I've seen in a long time NOT made in China. Made in Romania)
