5.0 out of 5 stars Great all round Boots, November 28, 2009

These boots weigh next to nothing and fit my feet like a glove!? They are true to size and comfortable straight from the box. Their first outing was a 13km hike without problem. The sole is easy to walk on trails and grips great rockhopping.

5.0 out of 5 stars SCARPA Women's Kailash GTX Lady Hiking Boot, June 24, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great. Don't even notice I'm wearing them. Got half to a full size bigger due to having a wide foot, and wanting extra toe room for walking down hills and not having toe cramped into the front of shoe.
Nil break in period - great from the outset. Would definitely recommend to others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great multi-purpose boot, February 12, 2011

I love these boots. I wore these on a seven-day trip to the Kilimanjaro summit after a handful of day hikes. They've been worn on rocky and slippery surfaces. They have never given me any problems at all. I normally wear a US size 8 and bought the size 40. And they are light and comfortable enough to wear around town without feeling like bricks are on your feet. After doing a lot of research on boots, I am very happy I got these. These are well worth the money and highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars So comfortable, August 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these hiking boots, based on several reviews I read, on here, and on other forums. I tried them on at a sporting goods store and they were extremely comfortable and light. I bought them to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in September of this year, so obviously have not done that yet, but will write a review when I return about the climb and how the boots worked there. So far, I wear them walking the dogs, around the house, to break them in...however, from everything I have read, there is no need to break them in, because they are built to be worn immediately. And you do certainly feel that when you're wearing them. I'm extremely happy with purchasing them and they were considerably less expensive on Amazon then they were at the sporting goods store.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sensational boots!, July 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these boots for a tough hike in outback Australia - the Jatbula Trail - where any boots would get a tough workout. I am totally happy with my choice.

I had had Scarpa hiking boots from decades ago, but needed new boots for this trip. I bought the boots a few sizes bigger than my usual size to cope with the spread of feet when carrying a full pack and for the swelling of feet that occurs in hot conditions. I was pleased with this decision.

When the boots arrived they looked fabulous - very well finished, as you would expect from Italian boots. The laces were the right length, it was nice to avoid having to deal with the usual a-foot-too-long-boot-laces dilemma. They were comfortable from the first wearing and remain so.

The boots kept the water out through minor creek crossings and bogs that were less than boot depth. After a serious river crossing the boots really showed their quality. I tipped out the excess water, squeezed out my socks and hiked on for another six hours. The next morning the boots were still wet, so I wore my damps socks again (why wet my nice dry socks?). By the end of the day the socks and boots wre dry and my feet were happy. They had got a bit hot during the day, but given the conditions this isn't that surprising.

A confession: I committed the (usually) major sin of buying my boots the week before I left on the hike - a seriously dumb idea and not recommended. Even though this wasn't the smartest thing I have ever done (and I do know better), these boots caused me not a single problem. I didn't get a single blister during the five day hike and at the end of the hike when others had been pleased to kick off their boots I kept mine on, as they were so comfortable.

These boots are of an excellent quality and coped with tough conditions. They are really comfortable and suit my feet. I look forward to many more miles of hiking with them.

I bought these boots through Amazon.com for a camping/hiking weekend which was rapidly approaching.
I received them very quickly and decided to wear them to work to "break them in". Imagine my
surprise when they were comfortable enough to work in for 3 consecutive 12 hour shifts.
When the weekend came we hiked (uphill) at Yosemite, and I was comfortable the entire time
(Well, at least my feet were). The soles are very supportive yet flexible with fine gripping
on uneven terrain. I love these boots! well worth the price. And quite attractive to boot (pun intended)

5.0 out of 5 stars Scarpa hiking boots, May 29, 2011

This review is from: Scarpa Women's Kailash GTX Lady Hiking Boot (Apparel)
Great. I tried them on in a store in Australia to get the size. but the size here only had 40...but on Amazon.com the sizes were 40M 40E etc so I was worried I had chosen the wrong size.. I couldnt be happier they are great.I didnt need to break them in. They are slightly heaveier for long walks than I had imagined.but they are my first pair of walking boots. you cannot get green in Australia so I was sooooooooooooo happy.. Highly recommend them and amazon.. they arrived in australia within 5 days unbelievable... and they are 50 percdent cheaper than in Paddy Palin australia...

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome boot., December 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this boot online, as you can't get half sizes in Australia, it actually turned out a lot cheaper than buying it in Australia anyway even with the postage included. It fitted perfectly and didn't need any 'breaking-in' at all. I wore it a few times before my hike (Inca Trail) but didn't have any problems with rubbing or blisters.

The waterproof feature was one of the main selling points for me, though to wear these boots when just generally travelling/backpacking (and not actually hiking) I found them a bit cumbersome and hot as they didn't breathe particularly well. For hiking on rough terrain, they gave really good support for the feet and ankles and there was good grip even on wet stone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love my new hiking boots, March 11, 2010
I absolutely love these new hiking boots. I walked out of the store wearing these new boots and went for a 6 mile snow hike. These boots were so comfy that I wanted to keep walking and after the hike my feet were completely dry and happy. They have very good traction too. I wasn't sure about the color but since my husband always tells me "there is no fashion in the woods" I figured they would be okay. However, after wearing them for a few hours I've come to love the lime green color which reminds me of spring.

I usually wear 6.5 wide shoes so I ended up buying size 7 since these boots do not come in wide. They are as comfortable as a hiking boot can get. Can't wait for my next hike. I highly recommend these boots to anyone looking to buy a boot that will last them another decade.

4.0 out of 5 stars Four plus stars, March 2, 2010
I concur with the previous reviewer. The fit on these things is spot-on. Right out of the box, they are more comfortable than my previous hiking boots of 10 years. I purchased them on the strength of the Backpacker magazine review, and was not disappointed. Lightweight, plenty of ankle support, and easy on-off.

Sadly, the color is kind of puke-y. But they'll be caked in mud soon anyway! I give them four-plus stars.
