This album is the spark. It's all emotion and none of the later more composed style. They went through a score of different singers before settling on Zoli Teglas, who I like, especially "In my time". I had the privilege to hear the "Scarred for life" album with Zoli's powerful voice right when he started out and it was magic. About seven people in the crowd, but the music wouldn't be denied. Ever since this album I expected Ignite to top it and technically they did, but as far as impact goes it stops right here. You can't beat the desperation trying to claw it's way out of the singer's chest. Repeat city.

5.0 out of 5 stars Old School Ignite, November 13, 2009
This review is from: Scarred for Life (Audio CD)
This is a great album - if you like the newer Ignite style then you may not care for this album. I have all of ignites stuff and I listen to this one over and over. it seams to be a real hardcore album. The newer stuff is a bit more melodic and polished and seems to cater more to the masses than this album. If you grew up when this style of music was really becoming popular then you will love this album, but it you are more into AFI then you will like Ignites newer stuff. Nothing against Ignites newer music it is great in its own respects but it is nowhere near as awesome as the stuff on this album. This album will remind you how fun it was to see local OC hardcore bands play in your buddies backyard for 15 minutes before the cops showed up.

2.0 out of 5 stars before Zoli... watch out, July 26, 2009
This review is from: Scarred for Life (Audio CD)
i haven't heard this album in like 14 years, but this is their early material with a different singer who is nowhere near as powerful as Zoli Teglas. if you wanna take a chance go ahead, but caveat emptor!
