About the Artist
Lets face it. Punk is dead. The previous idea of punk died with the arrival of punk bands to the mainstream audience. Theres nothing necessarily wrong with that, its just bands have the obstacle of reinventing their sound to make themselves stand out in a crowd. Scars To Prove does just that. Formerly Cloud Nine, this Pittsburgh-based quartet started playing the Western-Pennsylvania scene to small audiences. These small audiences soon grew in size, as did the buzz surrounding them. However, it wasnt until their first show in New Jersey that Cloud Nine attracted the attention of a growing independent record label known as All Records. A couple of months go by, Cloud Nine is now Scars To Prove and is blowing old and new fans away with the raw intensity in their music that can best be described as a cross between Taking Back Sunday and Saves The Day. And with the re-mastered, and in some ways re-recorded, version of their self-released CD, Planes To Atlanta And The World, now self-titled, being released on September 28, 2004, the future looks very bright for this band. Punk might be dead but at least Scars To Prove is there to push the fact that rock is not.
