Book Description

May 25, 2002
Her answers regarding the manuscript’s authenticity and scope were seductively vague. I asked her if she thought the document was real. She squinted and tilted her head to one side. “You mean is it authentic?” “I can tell you that it was written in first-century Greek, and it is the soul and life experience of someone.” “That much is authentic.” “She leaned forward as she continued.” “And there is something more than that, we both feel it, or you wouldn’t be here.” An ancient manuscript is mysteriously abandoned to a stranger. Upon examining its contents both the stranger and the reader find two thousand years of distance dissolve and discover themselves invisibly standing next to Pontius Pilate, a man tumbling toward infamy. This “fly on the wall” account of events that led to a crucifixion, not only makes the reader part of the journey, but a key player in the death of Jesus of Nazareth.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's so engaging you won't be able to put it down!, August 16, 2002

This review is from: Scars of Truth (Paperback)
"Scars of Truth" is an age-old story transformed in this soul-baring novel set in Biblical times. Immersed in this compelling tale of political intrigue, the reader is privy to the thoughts and dealings of Pontius Pilate during his entanglement with Jesus of Nazareth. Is he a cold-blooded executioner, a power-hungry politician, a scapegoat? The reader must discover the truth in this engaging journey to the secret struggles of every human heart.
This is an exceptionally imaginative and well-written piece of historical fiction. "Scars of Truth" is reminiscent of books like "The Red Tent" or "Memoirs of a Geisha." A must read, especially for those who would enjoy a lively book club discussion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating and insightful! I couldn't put it down!, August 1, 2002

This review is from: Scars of Truth (Paperback)
While "Scars of Truth" isn't the type of book I usually read, I must admit that I found it absolutely captivating. I literally read the book in its entirety in one sitting. From the very beginning, I felt that I was part of the story as it was unfolding. And--as the author intended--I found myself lost in self-reflection for hours after I completed the book. Definitely a must-read!

You will not believe the ending. This is one incredible book. Makes you forget from the first chapter that is is really a novel. Makes your brain hurt. A must read for someone not interested in the ordinary.
