Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 1-4AA long, cautionary poem about dangerous fairies lurking in the woods beyond the garden. The singsong quality of the rhyme is strangely at odds with the hazards described. Ludlow's illustrations include lots of forest detail and some creepy touches, but they mainly serve as surroundings for the holograms that offer three-dimensional views of unpleasant forest inhabitants. Such novelty can't sustain a book with so little else going for it.AKathy Piehl, Mankato State University, MN

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have!, June 30, 1999

This review is from: Scary Fairies (Hologram cover) (Hardcover)
I am a collector of faery books and this is a must have. Each page is fully illustrated with those naughty fairies. The story is delightfully written, and the book has several faery holograms. A delightful addition to any bookshelf, young or old. A wonderful keepsake!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a fun book!, July 25, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Scary Fairies (Library Binding)
I got this book for my three-year-old son. The poem is interesting but he was more preoccupied with the book's holograms. This was a first time he had seen one and so he kept asking me to help him "find a hole to get in" it... and was pretty surprised to find nothing on the other side of the page. Bottom line, it is a fun book with beautiful illustrations. I would recommend it for any age.
