5.0 out of 5 stars A very helpful book
This book is a psychoanalytic book which really helped my child overcome her bedtime fears. Its approach is great and can truly help you and your child

1.0 out of 5 stars Freaky... and bad message to boot!
I rented this book from the Library in hopes of helping my 4 year old son's fear of the dark/going to sleep.
Bad idea. Pretty freaky pictures for a small child.
Also story takes a strange twist in which the little boy, Davey, plots with the bedtime Monsters on ways to make "wishes" to have horrible things happen to his sister and mother. (ie. tree falling...

Bad idea. Pretty freaky pictures for a small child.
Also story takes a strange twist in which the little boy, Davey, plots with the bedtime Monsters on ways to make "wishes" to have horrible things happen to his sister and mother. (ie. tree falling on his little sis!) Yikes!
When all is said and done, the miserable lesson learned is re-directing anger at others to cover up your own fears.
Any interest in this book, I would definitely suggest renting at the library and previewing it before reading to a small child!
You might be able to pull some good from it, bud I am soooo glad I didn't get as far as reading it to my son.
