Book Description

THRILLS AND CHILLS --
THIS IS GOING TO BE THE
COOLEST BIRTHDAY EVER!

Adventure is brewing at Scarytales, a creepy old house where story, book villains like the Big Bad Wolf, Captain Hook, and the mean stepsisters from "Cinderella" come to life. So when Nancy, Bess, George, Katie Zaleski, and her parrot, Lester, go to their friend Amara's Scarytales sleepover party, they're sure to have a great time.

But the fun really turns scary when strange things start to happen and Lester disappears from his cage. Even the villains of Scarytales are spooked! Could the troublemaker be Amara's pesky little cousin Ernest, the grouchy troll with a plan tip his sleeve, or the wicked witch who threatens to pop Lester into her bubbling brew? Can Nancy solve this creepy case before Amara's birthday is ruined?

More About the Author

Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon are the pseudonyms under which many ghostwriters penned the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, respectively. Both series were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate book packaging firm, in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet, and syndicate writer Mildred Wirt Benson were the two people primarily responsible for bringing the iconic character of Nancy Drew to life in the minds and hearts of millions of readers around the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Splendid Spooky Sleepover!, January 18, 2008

This review is from: The Scarytales Sleepover (Nancy Drew Notebooks #50) (Paperback)
There's no place like a sleepover party to tell scary stories, and the best place to do that in River Heights is Scarytales! All the spooky-scary villains from your favorite stories are there to help you celebrate your party the spookiest way possible.

Nancy Drew, Bess and George are all at Scarytales with their friends, expecting a great time with Captain Hook, Cinderella's mean step-sisters and the Big Bad Wolf!

Lester, the parrot has even come along.

The party might be ruined if Lester can't be found! He's been bird-napped, and there's quite a list of suspects and clues in Nancy's trusty blue notebook. Can America's favorite third-grade detective crack the case of the Scarytales Sleepover before the party is ruined?

Carolyn Keene always knows how to write for Nancy Drew's young readers, giving them the stories and settings that enthrall them and send them clamoring for more!
