It is too bad Scatman John aka: John Larkin had to die. he ws a very good person. this cd shows this. it is very inspirational. he is my idle, and i love all his music. i STRONGLY reccomned this cd to anyone who has a problem, is feeling low, or is just plain in the mood to enjoy some great music. Thank you Scatman, we will miss you.

Okay, okay - we're forgetting something fundamentally important here. Each to their own opinions, right? To many, Scatman John has been an unbelievable source of upbeat positiveness, strength and a prime example of originality through a diverse musical style. To others... (fortunately, a small minority), he just doesn't suit their musical taste. Alright guys?

I also happen to be a personal friend of the Scatman. I love him dearly I never met a more wonderful human being in my life. If you insist on insulting this man, do it on respectable terms, and keep it music-related. If you don't like his music, that's fine. You are at liberty to disregard John as a musician by your own taste... but don't ever, EVER insult this man as a person. By doing that you are insulting not only John himself, but the people close to him.

On the original purpose of this piece... I strongly advise buying John's album, simply to see for yourself. You've never heard anything like it.

Scatman's World is pure gold. The Alchemists' dream... Turning plastic into gold with pure Altruistic thoughts. Why not! Consider all the negative music of his time littered with Alliterations of hate, deception and greed. If you are ever depressed listen to this album. It will change your point of view... because Everything Changes!

I understand why som people think its [bad]... In my opinion it deserves a better reputation.

About half of the album is very good. The hit singles of course, but also the calm tunes like "Quiet desperation", "Live for the moment" & "Song of scatland" are superb. The "scat" is something absolutely unique and makes the album stand out in the crowd.
Truly there are some misteps. "Only you" is monotone, "Hello luie" is a trowaway track and "Mumbo Jambo" is completely unlistenable. "Game over jazz" starts out promising with a uptempo jazz beat that swings like hell but when this is replaced by the usual techno beat it all falls flat to the ground.

The good part of the album is still that good to make it worth listening forever, and it is both relaxing and makes you happy at one time.

This album is a must !!! It's probably the best album ever released by Scatman. It's a multi-genre CD (Dance, Techno, Pop, Jazz and others genres) who contains the famous dance song of 1995 ; 'Scatman'. (The remix of Scatman is a hi-tempo jazz mix and last 5:03). If you like 'Scatman', you'll love 'Scatman's World', 'Only you', 'Time' and 'Sing Now'. If you buy this album, you won't regret your fact !

I first heard a Scatman song on a movie. I ordered this and have been really pleased with it. It is a combination of scat (making music vocally) with a newer pop flavor. It also offers two traditional jazz scat songs, which I are my favorites on the disc.

Whoever wrote the review that condemned the Scatman, again, have no idea what they are talking about. Does this have anything to do with the Oscars? I don't think so!! I looked down at every review and there was not one thing said concerning the Oscars. What is this guy talking about. A very amateur review from someone who knows nothing about music. This music has inspired people to go on and shoot for the stars. There is the National Stuttering Project, for example. He was a guiding light in many peoples' lives and I am not going to sit here and read these degrading comments about a great man. The Scatman is my hero. I talk to him on the phone once a week and he gives me an utter sense of inspiration. He is a very talented person no matter what any of these other ignoramuses say. If I keep going to this and find a new dehumanizing and demeaning review, I will keep defending my opinion every time. Oh, the guy from Brazil- go and badmouth someone else and leave the Scatman alone. Yours are not "words of wisdom"!

Whoever made these degrading comments about his music have written unsubstantiated garbage and I was outraged at their unsubstantiated material that they call their opinions. These idiots probably do not know that the Scatman stutters and has tried hard to make it in life and he deserves it. IT'S NOT A WASTE OF MONEY AND HE ISN'T A FATHER AS SOME OF THAT PERSON SAY HE IS. These are false opinions.

Great fun to listen to! An upbeat and energizing sound that will start you singing along.

... this is a great cd. it's so cheerful and full of happiness. the rythm is great and it always puts me in a good mood when i listen to it...just by his music you can tell that Scatman John is nice man with only good intentions. rest in piece, John. and buy this cd, world. it's terrific
