5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, Somebody knows what they're talking about part 2, July 13, 2006

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Scattered Minds: Hope and Help for Adults with ADHD (Hardcover)
I bought this book at the same time I bought Delivered From Distraction. I read this book first because of it's focus on adults and medications which is what concerned me most. After my insurance company took away my name brand prescription, I began to take the generic which proved disastrous on many levels. Since that time I have struggled to find a medication that would be right for me and OK with my insurance company. Scattered Minds; Hope and Help... has given me all the information there is right now. I loaned this book to my doctor and we are working things out. Like the book says, "Just keep trying".That is what I am doing, only now, with more help than I've ever had before, thanks to this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars unique and insightful look into adult ADHD, May 22, 2006

This review is from: Scattered Minds: Hope and Help for Adults with ADHD (Hardcover)
DR. Lenard Adler has written a comprehensive book on adult ADHD.
Unlike other books on the subject DR. Adler does not give us a
"pop" psychological view of this disorder. He debunks commonn misconceptions of ADHD and offers up to date information regarding medications used to treat this disorder. I recommend
this book for those who have ADHD and want more than just a rah rah rah approach to their "Scattered Minds".

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Resource for Adult ADHD, June 5, 2006
This review is from: Scattered Minds: Hope and Help for Adults with ADHD (Hardcover)
As a co-owner of the ADDvisor, we hosted a teleconference featuring Dr. Lenard Adler in May. Dr. Adler was a very engaging speaker and provided many valuable insights into adult ADHD.

Dr. Adler's new book, Scattered Minds, highlights both his knowledge about ADHD with writing that is both accessible and readable. This goes for professionals as well as the general public.

In understandable terms, Dr. Adler describes the neurobiology of ADHD, the co-existing conditions that often accompany ADHD, medications and complimentary treatments and alternative treatments.

'Scattered Minds' can be used as a reference for questions as they come up or can be read cover-to-cover. Either way, your book shelf will be more valuable as you collect your resources about ADHD.
