Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

This is the FIRST book on Jewish genealogy written by an actual teacher of the subject. Ms. Morris simplifies, informs and inspires the reader. Scattered Seeds is easy to understand, includes over 65 graphics, can be and is being used as a textbook for high school through senior students. Included are not only where and what information is available, but HOW to access the information and extract hidden clues. The book gives a brief background of the Jewish people, from the Twelve Tribes through the Pale of Settlement of Eastern Europe. Step by Step you will learn how to utilize various types of federal and state records, use supplemental resources such as tombstones, synagogue records, questionnaires, Mormon centers and city directories. Different types of charts, and what and where one can find relevant information on the World Wide Web. This is a must book for everyone interested in family history and genealogy.

From the Author

My students required a textbook on genealogy that explained HOW to find information about their ancestors as well as what is available and where to get it. I wrote this book based on their requirements for simplicity.

At long last a book that can be kept for generations-to use,learn-to; to assist in the processes of finding our lost and scattered families. Even the name says it all"Scattered Seads". Author has done an great job of taking a very complicated process and breaking it down into it's component parts. Easy to read, easy to understand.

Format: Paperback
Ms. Morris has simplified the seemingly daunting process of searching for family roots. The fact that the book is soft-covered and small (easy to carry) makes it inviting for note-taking and record-keeping.
