An excellent mini journey to the Highlands of Scotland!, September 24, 1998

The music of Smithfield Fair is a strong synthesis of traditional Scottish music styles and American popular folk. The vocals on this album are dynamic and Jan Smith's voice is one of the strongest in current Celtic music. Put this together with long-standing traditional favorites, exciting new originals, bagpipes, mandolins, accordion...and you have a mini-journey right to the heart of the Highlands. A "must have"! Also check out the newest release "Highland Call" and their first, "Scotland Owns Me" for more great music. Plenty of Irish music to be found, but few Scots of such strength.

Smithfield Fair's Scattered Seeds of Scotland is a must have for all Celtic Music lovers. It offers original and traditional celtic songs, and varies the moods to allow for lively as well as soft romantic songs. It's the type of CD that can be enjoyed repeatedly for hours on end.
