4.0 out of 5 stars Wilhelm Reich, UFOs, Nuclear Energy, Cattle Mutilations and the Decimation of Life on Earth, October 25, 2010

This review is from: Scavengers from Space (Paperback)
This book was published posthumously in 1988. Jerome Eden follows up his interesting Planet in Trouble: The Ufo Assault on Earth with a further look at the links between nuclear energy and UFOs. He recounts how he was zapped by a UFO in 1971 and suffered symptoms such as fever, headaches and bloodshot eyes afterwards. There's a photo of him operating a cloudbuster and much of the book discusses the still apparently sensitive subject of Wilhelm Reich's encounters with UFOs in the 1950s, including how he apparently disabled UFOs with his cloudbuster. There's a decent look at the subject of 1970s cattle mutilations and media efforts in 1974 to encourage the public to look forward to open contact with aliens, in anticipation of an announcement that UFOs are real.

This may be one of the most downbeat books on UFOs ever written. The question is posed that while it may be cattle that are being drained of blood today, will it be children who are targeted tomorrow? He points out that UFOs are observed at areas such as swamps and stagnant ponds, in addition to military installations. The case of policeman Jeffrey Greenhaw is covered, who took Polaroid photos of a UFO near a military arsenal, then lost his job, suffered a divorce and had his house burn down.

The degree of similarity in characteristics of desert creatures and reported UFO occupants is discussed. There is much in the way of speculation, but I consider it well written. Over the years there have been reports of UFOs causing blackouts, but no incidents of any nuclear energy plants being knocked out of commission, according to Mr. Eden. He wonders whether a radioactive environment might be necessary before any invasion could commence. He predicts that continued and expanding atomic energy use will lead to an more droughts, expanding deserts and eventually the planet becoming a dead, barren planet like the moon. Recommended for those who enjoy controversial and provocative books.
