The ultimate field guide for the scenario paintball player is here. This 176-page book is filled with everything a player needs to know about getting into the sport of paintball. Information from rules and safety guidelines of the game to product descriptions and upgrades, all the way to scenario game ideas and in-depth team tactics are found inside this book. There is even a glossary of terms for parents that need to know what their kids are talking about.
Don Grubish was born in New Richmond, Wisconsin to a family of seven kids. Growing up in the country, he developed his sense of imagination playing in the woods with his brothers and learning to create stories when he drew pictures at an early age.
By high school, he turned that wonderment into creative writing and art. Eventually that skill developed into a college degree in commercial art with a creative writing minor. Don soon went to work as a graphic designer, but always kept the notion of writing in the back of his mind.
Soon that bug got the better of him, and in 2005 he wrote his first book, Scenario Paintball: Tips, Tools, and Tactics from the Trenches. This book was a starter for paintballers everywhere interested in picking up the sport. It was also how he got his feet wet in the world of self-publishing.
After travelling the country attending major paintball events, Don got the hint from seasoned paintball veterans that they wanted something more advanced, so in 2006 he published Advanced Scenario Paintball. It too was a big hit in the paintball community.
On a trip out east to attend an event at Skirmish in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania he got to talking with his friend about what to do after paintball books have had their time in the spotlight. Don knew he needed to work on something more, like a novel. His friend asked him what he had in mind. Don replied that he's always wondered what it would be like if America ever went through a second civil war.
The two bounced plot ideas off each other on the road trip east, and within roughly two hours, the plot for Divided We Fall emerged. Don was so excited he literally got goosebumps on his arms and begged for something to write on. He had to get started right away.
A novel is much more intense to write than a paintball book, so after three years of research, writing, editing, and more editing, Divided We Fall is now uploaded and ready for sale on Amazon's Kindle program. This book is the first in a three part story, so look for the second book, Divided States of America, sometime next year.
