Worked for one week.

It's true that birds seem to like the moving water and now come to drink where previously they did not.

The water wiggler works when it's in full sun.

I wanted to attract birds to a water feature so I bought the Wiggler. It does wiggle water. However only part of the time. The solar battery seems totally inadequate, and unable to hold a charge. I live in Tucson Arizona where the sun always shines. I have several other solar powered doodads which run just fine. The wiggler's charge lasts only a couple of hours.

The product is not defective just inadequate. I would look for something else.

NYC does not allow standing water, including bird baths, and can fine you up to $300 if found. I believe this is a way around this and a great mosquito larva preventative since mosquitoes won't lay eggs in moving water. It's true that birds seem to like the moving water and now come to drink where previously they did not. The 8 watt solar powered motor runs for about two days (day & night) without sun. It has only stopped once during a four day rainy spell but started right up as soon as the sunny weather came back. Set-up was easy for this very simple device. I like it and am very satisfied.

1. With the large battery it came with it has run continuously for 2 weeks so far even with few sunny days or hours. Considering I plan to run it all year, even in the winter over my bird bath heater, it should be a good savings in battery costs if it continues to work.

2. The birds appear to like it. They have come and used the bath with it running. It is a 18" diameter bath.

3. Height - with bath completely full the Wiggler upper part is ¾" above the water (they recommend at least ¼").

So far very satisfied with unit.

I purchased the Solar Water Wiggler because I didn't want my birdbath to become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, and I wanted a water feature that needs no power source. Well, this device delivers--with a few important caveats:

Caveat #1: The device only works in DIRECT sunlight. Once I moved my partially shaded birdbath into the sunlight, the Solar Wiggler began to spin and "tickle" the water with a pleasant sound, not unlike a small stream flowing. The birds love it; it's pleasant and there are have been no mosquito larvae since it began wiggling water 3 years ago.

Caveat #2: The little spinning wheels will stop moving (i.e., the Wiggler will be inoperative and mosquito larvae will thrive) if they get clogged with algae, so you have to keep the birdbath and the Wiggler clean. Just gently wipe the spinning wheels every once in awhile.

Caveat #3: After every major storm, when the birdbath is full of water (up to the tops of the Wiggler's legs), the Wiggler stops working. You may ask yourself, "How can a water feature break when it gets wet?" Well, the fine print on the instruction pamphlet says that the Wiggler isn't supposed to ever become "submerged" (or, in my case, really-really-wet). Well, that's annoying, right? However, when it gets really wet (like after a storm), and stops working, DON'T PANIC. Just unscrew the plastic top, and let it dry out somewhere for 3-4 days, then put it back in the sun. It should start spinning like new.

I love this thing: I have a birdbath, and no mosquitoes.

The wiggler only worked for two months. I had battery replaced and it worked for another month, then quit again. I am not spending any more money on batteries. Don't know if it is just the one I had or if they all are defective. Very disappointed. And of course, it ran until the return window was expired.

The water wiggler works when it's in full sun. However, the battery hardly holds any charge and the wiggler stops soon after it's in the shade.

I had such high hopes. So disappointed. Waste of money. If I knew how I would return for full refund.

It worked fine at first. Now, it doesn't even work. It appears to be the motor. Now what do I do with something that doesn't even work?
